I worked at CROSSMARK part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good part time work. They offer 6 hour shifts 2-3 days a week. Little experience is needed.

    Cons

Must work every weekend either Saturday and Sunday or both days. There has been a lot of turnover lately in supervision at the Streamwood Store. There has been much confusion on the schedules.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your supervisors better. Also, apply the rules consistently. Sometimes it is ok to be lax on the rules, and other days it is always follow the rules exactly. .

    Pros

    very flexible
great if you like to work alone
    good benefits for full time

    Cons

    pay is low
mileage reimbursement -computer configures how it is caculated so if you stratagize start close to home and end close to home you will only get start close to home and the computer will figure the last stop the furthest from home
drive time-same as above you get shorted by the computer configuring what is cheapest for the company

I have been working at CROSSMARK

    Pros

The benefits and bonuses are amazing when you work as a specialist, your responsible for your own team and your actually feeling like a manager

    Cons

There used to be unbelievably harsh financial goals to get to everyday. If the managers of the store doesn't like you you lose your position no matter how hard you work

I have been working at CROSSMARK

    Pros

This started out to be a temp job- I ended up staying with Crossmark for 3 years. I was able to make my own schedule (within limits) and MOST of the time it was an agreeable job.

    Cons

I found out my job was over via email 12 hours before my next days work was scheduled! My supervisor of 3 years did not even call me to let me know (she knew 1 day before I found out) I was out of a job! I just checked my company email as usual the night before I worked (I only worked Fri, Sat and Sun) and the email was just there saying the job was over.
In 3 years time I never received a single raise, and it looks like we are going to get cheated out of our 2014 bonus which was due literally any day (March of 2015). Do NOT count on any future with Crossmark!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You're just as disposable as we are!

    Mindless and monotonous
    Not enough hours
    Hardly any room for advancement
Don't ever expect a raise or benefits

I worked at CROSSMARK full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Loved the coworkers that were real people, not trying to play the game.
Cafeteria is great! Staff is friendly and it's the best hour of your day.
Negotiated my salary up 22%. Likely approved because hiring manager was quitting the next week.

    Cons

Certain departments have managers that are not experienced with market research, but great at micromanaging.
Forced to drive in through dangerous conditions despite the job being 100% able to be done at home. Questioned for a doctors note when ill. Not trusted despite never acting untrustworthy. Workloads unmanageable and technology light years behind competitors because of specific contracts. Worked many nights till midnight to get projects launched because of QC requirements and delays. Short staffed. Underpaid in comparison to CSMs ($12-20k) who leave at 5pm, in general.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I've since quit and moved on, as many colleagues did before and after me. I've found a company with leaders (Directors and higher) that recognize and congratulate on the efforts you put in. People that have your back in the ups and down, because they hired you knowing you were the person for the job.
My advice to management: cancel contracts that are holding you back from growing/expanding your technology capabilities, spend time and money upgrading your technology and collection capabilities to increase efficiency and win new business bids that will actually last. Hire managers that have at least 1 day of experience in the field they will be "leading" under. If you can't do any of these, expect employees to continue to be unhappy and/or quit because there are better jobs for better pay out there. I often look back at my time at Crossmark and think of what pay increase may of led me to stay. It's rests around 45-50%, and even then I would've been miserable.

I have been working at CROSSMARK

    Pros

    Qualify for low income
    Qualify for food stamps

    Cons

    Low Pay
    No Raises
    No Promotions
The only way to get promoted is if you are a Management Trainee

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are losing good people because you don't know how to manage them, celebrate their successes, or train capable leaders. You Management Training Program is a joke.
