I worked at CSA Group as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The office environment was very enjoyable, every single person was always in a great mood and willing to help each other. I enjoyed the fact that there were more than ten nationalities represented in the small New York office.

    Cons

Lunch time can get loud because the employees gather in the kitchen area to talk and make jokes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Leadership is great, they would always say Good Morning and be around.

    Pros

    Cons

Not much chance of change or promotion as this is a small facility.

Former Employee - Project Manager in Chicago, IL

    I worked at CSA Group

    Pros

It's a great place for Hispanic professionals without much experience.
Opportunity to become a Project Manager with little experience.

    Cons

Project Managers have the responsibility for projects success. However, they do not have any authority to obtain the needed resources. They get a pocket knife to do brain surgery. To alleviate their own responsibilities, the partners would make people Project Managers without their consent or compensating them properly.
Tends to favor minorities. Their mantra was to be the best Hispanic company in the world.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Abandon the philosophy that places all of the responsibility on the Project Managers. It creates a lot of game playing and finger pointing. The managers get no support from the top and those below have no stake. Responsibilities should be distributed from top to bottom.
    Be honest with yourselves.

I worked at CSA Group full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Personal and professional growth, excellent opportunities to build relationships both internally and externally. Allows for a good work-life balance, and benefits are great. The work environment is, overall, outstanding.

    Cons

Promotions are poitical; need a godfather to advance. Part of the organization is unionized, which leads to poor customer service and significant red tape and bureaucracy, which creates a bad reputation and affects the entire organization, including those that are not unionized.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reduce bureaucracy and meetings, allowing people more time to do their work instead of having excessive meetings that reduce productivitysignificantly

    Pros

    Flex hours in SOME locations

    Cons

Work you hard, ask for more, very little gratitude. Not a Canadian company anymore. China is the bright star in this organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your managers. They have no managerial skills.

    Stable, longterm job.

    Cons

Passive Aggressive Staff who don't want to share their expertise.
A leadership team that would rather die a slow painful death than change.
    Disgruntled staff, lazy staff.
