Pros
Many opportunities for growth and supportive mangagement
Cons
Many layers of management and approval levels
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate more with everyone
Pros
PTO is good when compared to the other organizations
Cons
Not much of career growth
Advice to Senior Management
Please provide some training for the people on bench to find new opportunities.
Pros
CSC can be an excellent place to work if you're creative and likw to try new things - not new jobs, just new things with your job. Salary is equitable. The people tend be quite nice and down-to-earth, which is one of the best things about CSC.
Cons
Promotions are slow, and so is the pace of change. CSC is still a far more important company then is credited, but has rested on its laurels for too long. It is now trying to change its culture, but for now, for most, the company can seem like a slow-moving, almost old-fashioned place to work.
Very weak benefits, administrative support, and professional training.
Advice to Senior Management
More emphasis on human resources is needed. The culture is dull, because the attention paid to employees is leaden. What is the CSC culture of today? Why are the benefits so minimal? Why is professional enhancement so weak or little leveraged? Why should a strong worker want to be at CSC?
Pros
Veterans on my team have allowed me to learn a lot in the last year.
Cons
If you don't mind bureaucracy and having to practice defensive work and prep to deal with clients and managers, then there's no downside.
Advice to Senior Management
Read my cons.
Pros
Work group is young and dynamic
Cons
Management does not provide encouragement and does not protect employees from the assaults of customers. Addition, it provides no information of any kind and there are career opportunities
Pros
Large company - lots of opportunity and multiple contract vehicles.
Cons
Serious concerns about immediate leadership (just below VP level) documented and all made aware of (HR, Senior Leadership, peers, etc....) but no action taken. Ended up leaving company.
Pros
The compensation is OK, a little below average but not horrible. The organization is OK. Overall it is an OK place to work.
Cons
Too many processes in place to get actual work done. And if you have to work with another vertical within the company it can be quite a headache.
Advice to Senior Management
Document some of the processes better so employees understand. Don't be so anally retentive about putting time in on time for non-gov't contracts. Remember that employees are people too.
Pros
Competitive salary and benefits and some decent co-workers are the main reason to work here. Facilities and equipment are adequate for the job.
Cons
ZERO credibility as a consulting company. Do NOT believe them when they tell you there is a "bench", there is not. You have to find your next project BEFORE your previous one is done and by the way leaving before is looked down upon.
Advice to Senior Management
Stop representing yourself as a Consulting company. You are a body shop, fess up.
Pros
Tuition reimbursement. Pay is ok. Employee discounts.
Cons
Managers' egos. Professional development lacking.
Pros
Convenient work location, except for traffic
Good amenities in the vicinity
Good place to "cruise" if looking for a dain bread environment
Cons
Tons of traffic along main corridors at all hours
If encounter accident, hang it up
Center of incompetence, stupidity, and arrogance (what a "winning combo")
Advice to Senior Management
Let those who have and can, do
Step aside by demonstrating humility, deferring to others who can direct the ship
