good salary, good benefits, at least it is a job

Invest less effort trying to win contracts, and more effort developing the contract staff teams. Provide incentives for workers to better themselves when they work themselves out of a project.

The starting salary for an experienced resource is very good.
There is no interference on your day to day job from CSC management, its you and your clients.

Great stable position with lots of opportunity and career paths. Excellent co-workers and team members - relatively low turnover.
Cons
I would say the only downside is that you should be happy with whatever salary you start with because the increases in pay are low or minimal - so start off at a range that you will be happy with for a long time.

Work-life balance is poor. Plan to be contacted on vacation; many employees have to work holidays.
The number of employees has been reduced to a point which affects our ability to deliver superior service to our clients.
Poor execution of new policies. Minimal communication, lacking follow-up analysis to confirm policy is beneficial.
Pros
Best place to work if you mostly prefer to work alone as an individual contributor without any collaboration or support from peers or superiors. Best place to work if you prefer to work in an environment without a corporate culture that does not believe in bringing its work groups together to exchange ideas and understand or experience the company culture.
Cons
Downsides are: 1) lack of leadership starting from the top (CEO) and getting worse at each level below; 2) no collaboration across geographies and globally and across the lines of business; 3) a culture that does not embrace collaboration and teamwork; 4) always focused on the bottom line with no room to invest in its workforce or in engaging its employees within their own work groups or within the business line; 5) stoggy environment that does not embrace change - many of their senior leaders have been with CSC for over 20 years and are looking for safe havens to retire.

The board should take a hard look at the leadership team including its middle managers.
