No Real Good Projects in Finance Domain.
You sit idle for months waiting to get allocated in a project. Even if you do, the work is horrible and the project duration is for a few months.
Allocated Project Randomly, totally ridiculous process.
Don't bet to get a project using technologies for which you were hired for.
All Projects mostly use outdated technologies.
If you love to work and want to work on the best projects and technologies, SKIP CSC.
Managers are like kings, butter them to succeed. Your hard work are a waste of time.
Complete Mismanagement and Chaos in CSC Noida DLF IT Park Campus.
You won't get your system or a place to sit, before a month or two. You'll be thrown around sittiing and using another person's system who are absent for that day. You get CRT and system with 1 GB RAM. IT department frowns if you want more RAM or a TFT screen. I mean come on...
Advice to Senior Management
"Most Admired Place To Work For" - What a big Joke!
Get your act together for CSC India. It's one of your biggest development centers with
nearly 20k people. Get some good projects and quality work.
Don't hire blindly... get some really skillful guys.
Revamp the work culture... get people who love to work... not who love to sit idle and draw huge salaries...
Please change for the better!!!

3. Dedicated Individual Development Plan for each individual and good trainings were promoted.
4. Almost fair treatment of all employees in terms of onsite, promotion, etc.
5. Overall cohesiveness across all departments
Cons
1. After CSC US acquired Covansys, the top management of CSC India was almost replaced by Covansys top management.
2. The quality of talent which was great at around 2002-2005 deteriorated in a rapid pace.
3. Lack of technology growth
4. Too much dependency CSC US, UK counterparts who are in direct contact with the clients.
5. Salary growths no longer lucrative.
Advice to Senior Management
1. Bring back the old talents and work-culture.
2. Give technology growth to people particularly who are interested.
3. Bid for clients directly

2. At CSC, you get a true work life balance. You can work from home and the company has flexible hours.
3. Recognition for work - If you perform well, you will definetly be recognized.

2. Not Agreesive.
3. Over employed. You might not get the sort of work you want to do
4. Not enough challenging work - The GTS division has work, which is very repititive and not challenging
Advice to Senior Management
1. Need better alignment of task force
2. improve operational efficiency
3. improve on appraisal system. the matrix hybrid looks good, but is badly implemented
Pros
Great place for self learning. CSC has deployed a great online self-learning section in the company portal. One can get best of the books online through the portal.
CSC also provides a good balance to personal/professional life. They have decent sports and gym facilities made available for the employees. Salary structure was friendly. There's lot of emphasis on non-work related activities. Sometime Key Result Areas are defined around non-work related activities. This can be seen as positive or negative under different contexts. E.g, approx 40% or KRAs are defined on non-work related activities. If an employee has been working diligently to meet stiff delivery deadlines, he/she is bound to miss on those 40% KRA goals, severely affecting the performance appraisal.
Cons
No vision from senior management, no roadmap. Senior management has been seen clueless about growth plans for the India FSG unit
CSC India (FSG unit) is a cost center and hence follows a business model which purely services onsite teams and projects. There is no scope of control although employees are accountable for the piece of assignment they are working on. All my proactive suggestions were warded off as silly but management wanted to implement them 2 years later when client started demanding for those features. This is a clear showcase of short-sightedness seen in FSG unit's management.
Recognition for one's accomplishments are purely on manager's discretion which is usually heavily biased on few people in the team. I can keep on writing more rants and raves but the fact is CSC FSG unit management is incompetent and short-sighted. I am pretty sure they still dont have any road map for the unit.
