Current Employee – been working at CSC full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Good company to work for. One of the leaders in the IT industry and a Fortune 500 company. Lots of potential if certain chances are made, specially in the compensation system.
Cons – One of the biggest issue is the Compensation System the company follows. Compensation offered are really on the lower end compared to market value.
Advice to Senior Management – Revamp the Compensation system to match fair market value for different jobs and opportunities.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at CSC full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Good salary, Mostly good people.
Cons – No career path, no real support for placement after a contract is lost. They lead you to believe there is but nothing comes of it. To top heavy way to many levels of management
Advice to Senior Management – Provide a contact with more workers and less management. Your workers are what keep a contract going.

Former Employee – worked at CSC full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Usual large company benefits, but within the last year medical costs increased. Felt like the corporation pushed most in the U.S. to high deductible plans.
Cons – More and more takeaways. Things like bonuses are only discussed at higher levels. There was not a lot of long term prospects in my unit. Even management is not respected.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at CSC full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Excellent staff who are willing to step in and assist with solving problems. Compensation is fair, at or slightly below the market. There are plenty of opportunities to move about the company and gain experience if you work hard and are a top performer.
Cons – The company is going through a “transformation”. Delayering of staff continues. There may not be enough staff to complete the work that must be accomplished. Work / life can be an issue depending on your role.

Former Employee – worked at CSC full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Very collaborative group of people that all contribute to delivery of technology to the client.
Cons – So large that at times that one part of the organization does not know what the other part is doing that may be helpful.
To many folks not thinking and just doing what they are told to do. No thinking, just follow the process.
Advice to Senior Management – Make sure client satisfaction is planned from the bottom up, not top down.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at CSC full-time for more than a year
Pros – Lots of internal opportunities, if you're willing to dig in and look for them. Large company with significant resources.
Cons – Things can get crusty. Recommendations for internal improvement get filed away in the 'ignore-forever' cabinet. All efforts must be charged to a particular project, which can become onerous when some tasks don't cleanly fit into any given project (and pretty much guarantees that internal development just doesn't happen). Boring culture for a young professional (stodgy, starchy).
