I have been working at CSL Behring full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are great! Hard working teams all around, with strong performers who are capable of achieving a lot within a lean organization. Great CEO!

    Cons

Some bad apples carrying incredible negativity, I often wonder why they stay...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ensure strategic alignment from the top down. You have great leaders, but they need clarity in terms of focus, who is their customer and what they should really be doing. If everything is a priority in a resource constrained environment, then nothing is a priority.

I worked at CSL Behring full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great industry to work in. Nice benefit package. The PTO policy is nice. Employees earn roughly 4 weeks of vacation/sick time a year.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive with the rest of the pharmaceutical industry. The operators make more then most of the salary personal. Very difficult to earn a promotion unless you're in the right crowd. Raises do not keep up with the cost of living or cost of rising healthcare.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop playing favorites when it comes to promotions.

I have been working at CSL Behring part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Learned a lot of things

    Cons

The coworkers there really only care about gossiping, less work, the quality and appearance of the facility is terrible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get people to work more efficiently and less conversations about another coworker. Also, don't let the team leaders off so easily. They are just as liable as the person who committed the mistake.

I have been working at CSL Behring full-time

    Pros

Your peers and other departments are all friendly and most care about their job. From a non-union perspective the 401k program is good.

    Cons

They pay their union folks well and significantly more then everyone else working hard just like they are. Everyone else unless you are in upper management makes far less and not even up to to industry averages for the job titles. Non-union pays $400 month for insurance, Their wage scales for titles are behind industry by like 5 years, All of the talented folks leave within a few years. Most of the people that stay are because they got into the "good ole boy club" or are from the area. If you are moving to CSL and plan to advance, DONT DO IT. I made that mistake, bought a house, and drank the cool-aid upfront. Now I realize there is no room to grow, nor get rewarded how hard or how many free horus you give the company. If you are salary it is expected you put in a lot of overtime and you are NEVER compensated or rewarded to it. I work along contractors and union employees who ALL get paid for being here on weekends. VERY FRUStRAtiNg. for it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

STOP THE MICROMANAGEMENT. It is getting so bad we might have to start asking permission to go to the restroom. No trust with anyone but senior staff that anyone beneath them can be empowered to do anything. No real chance to advance within your specialty of expertize (non-union)

I have been working at CSL Behring part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible work hours. Good food in the cafeteria and great prices for food.

    Cons

Culture and environment is like a sorority and fraternity, no matter what department you work in or what your job title is. If someone person don't like you, then all persons in the department don't like you. HR people have been there so long, their views and work is substandard. Recruiting is based on ethnic background, not experience, education, or knowledge. They bring temporary employees in on a temp-to-hire position and let you go on your 91st day. Local and international employees are condescending. No diversity in most departments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

No advice....management is part of the bad core. The effects roll down the employee line.

I have been working at CSL Behring full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

CSL HQ is located in suburban Philadelphia; good area to live, work, and thrive. CSL offers competitive salaries, fair benefits, and financially, is doing well. However...

    Cons

Toxic environment. A lot of in fighting, kiss up/kick down distrustful managers. Very few opportunities to move up unless you are on the A list or an ex patriot. Overall, many are frustrated and looking to leave.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take a serious look at the style/culture that has taken over the last two years - clean your house starting with HR, WW Ops, and Finance. Try motivating your employees instead of beating them down and out the door. PS, all the professional coaches hired in efforts to get others to get along is not working. Save your money and solve many problems by getting rid of the bullies.
