    Pros

Some of the great reasons to work at CSL are: the meaning behind the work - the plasma collected goes for the great purpose of creating life saving medication; it is a great place to gain medical type experience without having to have previous experience; and movement within the company is pretty easy as long as you work hard and show improvement

    Cons

Some of the downsides of working at CSL include: low wages - starting pay is barely above minimum wage; the donors and clientele are often not of high caliber and are often rude to employees; and depending on who your management is your schedule is very variable making it hard to make plans outside of work.

    Advice to Management

Be flexible and include your staff members or at least give an opportunity to be involved in decisions. When that is not possible, keep them informed as best as possible.

    Pros

Good place to gain phlebotomy experience. Meets a lot of different people. Never really a dull moment.

    Cons

Under staffed, if you close you don't have a set time to get off. So you might end up working 12 hr shifts.
Management allows "favourites" to do whatever they want.
You don't get paid extra if your a certified phlebotomist nor for being trained in all areas.
Benefits are only for full-time employees.
    It's always hot.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people, get to know your staff.

    Pros

Comradeship is outstanding with a great support system in place. Company meetings are always exciting and informative. The company is growing at a great pace.

    Cons

Pay competitiveness is weaker than what the competition offers.

    Advice to Management

Offer better salaries and work hours conducive to a great work life balance. Instead of feeding employees to show appreciation, how about teaming with the center’s local business community and and offer other incentives.

    Pros

Meeting lots of people (donors), never a dull moment, some really fun people to work with and some really great trainers, good cross-training opportunities.

    Cons

Terrible wages (barely above minimum wage) for the work and things you have to deal with. Ridiculous levels of favoritism, which lowered moral. Management doesn't know how to be actual managers and will avoid conflict whenever necessary, even if it means not solving problems between staff. Bad scheduling and unfair treatment. Certain people could come in late to work every day without a hitch, where others would get a warning or written up. It's like a bad version of high school; lots of backstabbing and drama. Rather disgusting what management will let people get away with there. Many people working there have psychologically checked out and are just bodies, which shows in attitudes and quality of work.

    Advice to Management

Be leaders!! Learn how to actually manage employees and be fair. Punish the people who deserve it and reward the people who do well. People leave that place so quickly and so often because it's an awful place to work. You are more concerned about numbers and having "teacher's pets" than having a good business with happy workers and a good work environment. You should listen to your employees and actually care and deal with the problems they have and try to help in whatever way you can.

    Pros

    Some of the staff members

    Cons

The management at 612 is unorganized! They base advancement on likeability rather than work ethics- it was so chaotic that I quit after 2 years of dealing with immature staff members

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the current management from h.r to the center management!

    Pros

Great opportunity to skip school and get hands on medical training. Uniform is provided.

    Cons

Horrible pay for them to expect workers to stay late. No set time off. No overtime. Too much favoritism. Extremely high turn over rate. Terrible managment. Improper use of PPE. Too many druggies somehow pass the process when their clearly on drugs. Don't feel safe working their due to the fact that anyone off the street can just pop up and go postal on employees. Too many loiterers outside the building. Job is too stressful for low wages even with certifications you may have. Unless your the workers pet and friends with the office folks your hours are never consistent. Employees that have been their way shorter time get bumped up to high positions versus the people that have put years into the company

    Advice to Management

Stop with the favoritism. Reward your employees as you see fit but fairly. Stop being so selfish and thinking about your bonuses instead fix the old equipment or get new equipment stop being cheap. take employee suggestions into consideration instead of blowing them off because you want to go home so badly during monthly meetings. if you're going to fire someone make sure its justified, don't fire someone because you don't like them. and don't take people transferring or quitting personal its not a good look when people want to advance to something better. people want to transfer to other centers and management seems to make it very difficult for the transfer to go through and make up any excuse to keep you there longer. This company needs a lot of help.

    Pros

    - Entry level experience.
    - Flexible scheduling for college students.

    Cons

-Horrible training program - few days of classroom training (reading SOPS), followed by questions and a live performance on the day you just learned the information. Not enough time to absorb information.
    - To many occupational risks associated with Blood and Plasma.
    - VERY LOW pay for the amount of work you will be doing.
    - Unorganized management team and scheduling for staff. (Expect holidays and weekends often)

    Advice to Management

Get real about the pay and expectations of your staff. Plus, fix the way you train your staff. To short a training period before you are thrown into the fire.

    Pros

Very low stress. Clean working environment. Pretty much the exact opposite of what any career paramedic understands to be their job. Nice change of pace.

    Cons

Young and immature staff as a whole. These are entry level jobs for the most part, outside the management and medical staff. Somewhat to be expected.

    Advice to Management

Splurge and pay for the slightly more "seasoned" technicians. They need little training and will, most likely, strive to further themselves up the ladder.
