I worked at CSU San Bernardino part-time for more than a year
Pros – - Proximity to classes and campus in general
- Easy work pace for the most part
- Most staff and instructors are very agreeable.
- Sense of community
- Valuable environment to learn communication skills - team environment
Cons – - Conflicting personality types (not uncommon)
- Low pay for work that generates a lot of money and exposure for the school
- No re-evaluation or pay increase even after one year.
Advice to Senior Management – Continue to build the programs that students need to be successful.

I have been working at CSU San Bernardino full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – The benefits are great! Besides the traditional vacation & sick time, there's also lots of holidays, access to discounted rec center, a variety of other discounts, and there's educational opportunities. I've gotten my BA & MBA while employed here. This is a Union shop so job protection is strong. Also, moving around to other positions on campus is possible.
Cons – As a state bureaucracy, change does not happen quickly. Plus, this is a Union shop so overachievers will have to contend with underachievers. Also, it is harder for off-campus people to get a position if on-campus people are contending for the same job. The employment outlook is bad. Because of the weak state economy the campus is facing budget cuts which means either furloughs will be implemented again or positions will be cut.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at CSU San Bernardino
Pros – Great benefits, park like environment. It's a good place to work if you get luck and get in a department that has a good working environment.
Cons – Upper management ignores poor and unethical behavior from middle management. Takes forever for any type of change to happen, very frustrating.
Advice to Senior Management – Hold yourself and your managers accountable. Don't stand for unethichal behavior or poor performance. Very frustrating for employees to see this.
