I have been working at CTIS, Inc. full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of autonomy, flexibility in work and ownership of projects (but it depends on your managers)
Excellent engineering and health IT talent, some of the smartest people I've come across.
Management and peers are friendly and helpful
    Decent pay
If you are hardworking, you will get lots of opportunities
    Good work environment
    Facilities are good
I hear the company now pays for gym membership

    Cons

The better you perform, the exponentially more you get responsibilities, which you are not compensated for.
    No Comp time
Management is hesitant to confront poor performers. They are allowed to continue their lax attitude and still get the minimum annual raises, although terribly meagre, while more and more burden falls on the good performers.
Some managers need better people management, communication and management skills
    Pay raises could be better
    401k benefits could be better

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You are a small business, provide competitive raises or you will lose good employees.
Adequately value high performers and promptly manage non performance.
Your managers need to be more managerial

I worked at CTIS, Inc. full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of access to management team, tons of time spent on do-it-yourself project if you're a go getter.

    Cons

Zero training, zero career growth opportunities. There's a family culture and if you're an employee that never makes it into the inner circle, find your stapler, coffee and move yourself to a dark corner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Revamp staff completely.

I have been working at CTIS, Inc. full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

CTIS as a company is a combination of fun, vibrant, thought provoking and challenging opportunities. There are endless opportunities here, but are not handed to you, you have to prove yourself. The environment allows you to work independently on projects with direction and support from management when needed.

The environment is self-motivating and continual change that makes things always interesting. The mission and work is captivating and inspiring, focused on making a difference in the health research community through technology. The company and its leadership both demonstrate this through actions, supporting the mission of the company through dedication.
The level of expertise within the company is phenomenal and provides great resources to tap into and learn from. The culture/ work environment is friendly and informal, making it very enjoyable to spend your work time, so many different things happen each day that it is never boring. In addition to my work, the friendly environment, after and during work day fun and team building activities keep me motivated and want to be there. I feel that this an excellent place to position myself in because of the constant opportunities to grow and learn professionally.

    Cons

Due to the fast pace work environment there are high expectations and standards set for all employees, which not everyone is cut out to meet. If you are not a self-starter or a quick learner and need hand holding you may be at a disadvantage though not for too long. If you prove yourself there is no looking back. There is no predictable career path to promotions and titles – though effort is being made to set one tying it to role and responsibilities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Utilize your internal resources better and give opportunities to grow.

I have been working at CTIS, Inc. full-time

    Pros

Chairman is a visionary, a genius with a golden heart. Mostly 80% in the management employees have been with the company for more than 10-25 years; some started from entry level and ended up with executive positions. Great indicator that management take care very well of the employees. Great health benefits and job security. Plenty of opportunities to grow within. Co-worker are very supportive; great team work.

    Cons

I wish company 401 k would match 50% of employee contributions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management need to enforce accountability with consequence when certain task or projects are not met and set up a reward system as well. I've worked with other huge corporations before where I see a lot of heads rolling when employee makes grave mistakes. Chairman truly cares with employees and sometimes hinders the cut-throat decision-making process.

I have been working at CTIS, Inc. full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    - This is one place where I can say that Open Door policy really applies and at all levels, even to CEO. Actually the CEO promotes and leads by example on that front.
    - Employees are very friendly and helpful
    - If you are looking at a place to learn and learn fast
    - A talented bunch of qualified technical resources which are driven and are always up for challenges to improve and grow with the company.
    - There are not many companies this size which would match the iteration rate of this company, you would find at least 50% of employees with more than 6-8 years with the company
    - Excellent job security with solid government contracts and satisfied customers

    Cons

    - Typical challenges as faced by any small company
    - CEO had a tough 2-3 years with his health and a heart transplant survivor trying to turn company around
    - Stretched thin but with desire to grow, leading to challenging environment
    - Shifting priorities
    - Client Dependency

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Just focus on growing business, rest will follow

I have been working at CTIS, Inc. full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The salary is decent and there is a bonus plan in place too for those willing to go the extra mile. There are great benefits and perks, such as paid gym memberships, health fairs, professional training, alternative work schedules and opportunities to work from home. The CEO believes in family first, which creates a good work/life balance. I enjoy working with the team here. Over 40% of employees have worked here for over 10 years, so that should say something about this company.

    Cons

Managerial skills and tactics could use some refinement. Due to cultural differences, sometimes intent is miscontrued.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make decisions and stick with them, it avoids confusion and frustration.
Remember to thank your reports daily and let them know when they need improvement.
Stability and guidance is key to insuring your team knows which direction to go.

I worked at CTIS, Inc. full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Rich history, thought leadership stems right from the top and is embedded in the fabric of the company, feels like one big family, people with very high integrity, always looking to bring innovation and trying out things, highly skilled workforce, stellar leadership and the CEO is a well-known name in the Healthcare sector.

    Cons

Stretched a little too thin because of the sizee constraint, always looking to bring innovation and trying out things - quite a few times you have been either ahead of time or the lack of resources has killed the momentum and the project has died before it sees the end, CEO's passion and commitment to better healthcare sometimes trumps the direct and cut-throat action a business requires.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay focused and not everyone needs to do everything, clearly define responsibility and hold people accountable.

I have been working at CTIS, Inc.

    Pros

Work with some of the most earnest, kind, hard working individuals I've ever met
You get to make an indirect impact on the quality of healthcare for patients through your work
HR has some programs, effective or not, that are at least trying to do things to benefit employees and improve moral
Compensation is fair but probably a bit below average compared to others in the area

    Cons

The performance review process is a joke and latest salary hikes for most were so tiny they weren't even inflationary
Lots of talk but very little follow through on any plans or promises made
Poor communication between upper management and employees (a monthly all hands where the CEO rambles about something for 30-60 minutes is a poor substitute)
    Favoritism is alive and well

I worked at CTIS, Inc. (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Some very talented people wandering the halls- they're just not in charge.

    Cons

Favoritism is rampant; if you don't have a close relationship (or family tie) to the executive team, you might as well kiss your ability to advance.

CEO changes his mind on the direction company at least 5 times per week. If you are in management, prepare to waste whole days of your life in 'strategy meetings' that are completely worthless.

Financially, this place was a mess... lies about bonuses, not paying contractors on time, etc. Yet the CEO shows up with a private driver everyday? I know it's become much cleaner

HR team is a joke- all they do is process paperwork and throw pizza parties twice a year.

If you have a good idea here, either leave to work on it elsewhere or forget about it. They'll either copy your idea and claim it as their own or totally butcher it.

They have a bunch of employees who rely on this company for their work visas. Good luck competing with their salaries.

Probably saw a dozen people show up and then leave within one week at the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Sell the company. You will never figure this out.
