Set realistic goals & better communication w/ employees.
Pros
CVS offers many things. If you like working with customers you will always get a chance to deal with the public. They also offer pay above minimum wage if you are experienced.
Cons
The way hours are handed out isn't always fair, and it is very hard to find managers that stand behind and support their employees.
Advice to Senior Management
I suggest doing a poll and finding out the best way you can start supporting your employees, especially the ones who are making a career out of CVS and not just a job.
Pros
You can work while in college.
Your co-workers are generally nice people.
The work itself is extremely easy.
Cons
The salary and benefits are not good.
The work is easy but the customers make your life absolutely miserable, and of course, the customer is always right- even when they threaten you with violence or shower you with obscenities and insults because their insurance company doesn't cover their medication.
The store management has no real training. The company seems to not want to make the investment.
Pharmacists who are not able to handle the volume of work in their stores. This is a problem in many stores. If you ever have to work in a store other than your own, or have a covering (floating) Pharmacist come into your store, it is horrible to have to take the abuse of customers because the Pharmacist is slow and sloppy.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat your store level employees with respect. They are human beings.
Invest in more training for your store management teams, they want to do a good job, but do not have the tools.
Cut the dead weight Pharmacists who cannot keep up with the demands of the job. They make it harder for everyone in the Pharmacy department to do their jobs well and cause a loss of customers.
Pros
good working inverment, nice people, good working place.
Cons
rude custormer, to many custormer asking for cash back.
Advice to Senior Management
