Pros
The pay is in the middle range I believe
Your coworkers are usually very nice and hard working
A lot of the customers become quite friendly and understand how hard you are working
Cons
Constant cuts in manpower at all levels that are not supported by corresponding decreases in workload or increases in technology improvement.
Lack of time to finish tasks expected leads to lots of stress and a scary environment for a health care setting
Push to place append above all else
Saturation of pharmacy market means more leverage for large retail employers to continue push for more work in less time
No possibility of an actual lunch whereas other chains close for a short time to allow lunch
Advice to Senior Management
Pull back on the programs, hours cuts, pressure and lack of any pay raises for your employees simply to make the extra cent on earnings.
Pros
The location I work is a great place to work as the immidiate manager is amazing. Most of the employees that currently work at this location are great to work with, of course with the exception of a few that dont do any work.
Cons
The amount of work done in the amount of hours provided (limited) by the district manager doesn't even come close to the compensation that should be given to the fellow employees for the kind of work thats being done.
Advice to Senior Management
I would very much appreciate a better compensation to work at the job, and of course to allow much more support in terms of the hours that should be provided to the fellow employees to do a certain amount of work daily.
Pros
Close to where I live, 30% discount, everywhere
Cons
Terrible hours, incompetent management, shady finance practices, gimmicks to get people to buy more instead of really caring about customers, make pharmacy staff into workhorses, having them take care of more than there is to handle, when management can easily hire more people to ease the load.
Advice to Senior Management
take care of your employees and they will take care of you.
Pros
flexible work schedules
easy entry level positions
Cons
low pay
poor benefits
no advancement
hectic environment
very financial driven corp
Advice to Senior Management
without the people at the bottom you couldn't really have a job... appreciate us once in a while is all we ask
Pros
Ok pay, work with great people
Cons
constant tasks to be done, no hours to schedule help, unappreciated, working 55 hours plus weekly, unable to take vacation time, unreasonable work demands.
Advice to Senior Management
Allow managers to be managers. I spend 99% of my day doing everyday tasks ie. planograms, price changes, cycle counts, push - no actual time to manage or train associates unless I want to work 70-80 hours a week and not be compensated.
Pros
If you want to be a pharmacist then this is a good job.
Cons
Not great pay. Not a lot al of pharmacist support.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat employees better
Pros
Good start out pay, benefits package, good working hours, great discounts and sales, family atmosphere with the co-workers, one can learn a lot about retail operations
Cons
selling cigarettes and liquor makes it a liquor store where already drunk or druged customers are trying to be smart with the employees especialy while on the register. store managers have no desicion power over the district an the competence of the district management is realy questionable - looks like family run buisness
Advice to Senior Management
stop making profit out of liquor and cigarettes and turn more towards becoming a pharmacy and not a liquor retailer
Pros
Excellent advancement opportunities, although you have to push to get them. If you enjoy conflict resolution and management, this is the company for you.
Cons
Raises are hard to come by so you need to badger your boss for that. Sometimes the store comes before advancement.
Advice to Senior Management
Be more committed to the advancement program. Know that most people want to move forward within the company and they need to be given every opportunity to do so.
Pros
Some of the best colleagues, customers, and managers around. Overall great working environment where a person can have fun and be at work at the same time.
Cons
Lack of upper-management's view of store level tasks. Reduction of hours over the past few years and the same expectations still apply as to what tasks need to get done day-to-day.
Pros
This company does offer a decent benefits package, longer than average paid vacation, prescription benefits, and up to 5% company match on a 401 K. Also, they have some great employee web sites and resources.
Cons
Too much workload. Employees are expected to complete so many things in a day that many times customer service suffers. Also, its a rare day when you go home feeling like you accomplished all you were supposed to.
Advice to Senior Management
Give the stores more employee hours to budget with. Your employees will be less overworked and probably friendlier to customers.
