Advice to Senior Management
hire more people and make sure your assistant and store managers know how to use all the components of the store e.i moneygram and photo dept.
Pros
Learn about drugs, causes and effects. Learn generic-brand names. Understand Insurance processing. Job may be significant upon individual. One has freedom within the workplace, as to make decisions and problem resolution. Interact with patients. Benefits are okay.
Cons
Varies from store to store. Low pay, hours vary weekly. Tasks and responsibilities are overwhelming. Must be done in a timely manner as well as filling prescriptions. Cvs system is good, but too slow.
Advice to Senior Management
Some stores best budget and still struggle because hours are still cut, and there is too much work for one person.
Pros
Pay is good.. Everyone from DM level up treats others fairly.
Cons
Upper management has a clear vision but the store manager don't care about others. They are only out for their own gain. No hours to run the store and too much work to do..
Advice to Senior Management
Look at what is going on at store level
Pros
A normal paycheck every two weeks and benefits for medical dental and vision. two weeks paid vacation.
Cons
Salary managers do not get paid for holiday time and half or extra holiday incentive. Pay shift supervisors 9 per hour and give them keys to store and safe codes. This low rate of pay makes them feel not as keyed managers but cashiers and changes their work ethic. Most of the time during closing shifts or opening the first two hours of stores you will only have one cashier and manager on duty or sometimes even just one manager...how is that good for customer service. even store managers might have to clean restrooms and vacuum floors. Store managers and assistants do everything at cvs and receive medium to low pay grade and horrible bonuses.
Advice to Senior Management
diversity.....corporate sends out seasonal books which hold a lot of planos as far as seasonal and end caps go. what they don't take into consideration is the fact that every store has different customers and different neighborhoods. lucern and dixie is not going to sell the same amount of depends as atlantic and jog. so managers should be able to order their own end caps and do seasonal displays according to customer clients. some more advise is stop wasting money on signs that are end cap toppers. put another shelf of product which is actually worth money. maybe even store brand. so you save on the 7000 stores you send pointless sign kits to and sell you own brand product. and diversify the end caps for multiple customers. most important after you save money from eliminating stupid sign kits you can add one more 8 dollar per hour cashier to help out with customer service so you don't make your top dollar managers run a register for 22 bucks per hour. then maybe your triple s would be real and faked by managers.
Pros
CVS have a very good salary for the upper positions, flexible of schedule when you work together with the manager of the store or with any other supervisor.
Cons
It is sometimes physical word. There is have to work most of the weekends and holidays because retail and pharmacy never close.
Advice to Senior Management
Try to demostrate your fully knodledge always from the point of view of the customer. Remember that the customer always right.
Pros
CVS Pharmacy is an excellent place for those looking to pursue a career in Pharmacy. They give hands on experience for those seeking Pharmacy skills. CVS is also great about keeping products in stock for their customers. The management is strict. CVS also gives insight to those looking for a career in the retail industry. The weekly pay is also great because there is almost no delay in the time waiting for a paycheck.
One of the mixed bag of nuts mostly depends on the store you are placed at. I had nothing but issues and problems at my home store, but when transfered to other stores for training or backup, it was truly an excellent working experience! I looked forward to every day working when it was not at my home store. It was honestly a pleasure working there.
Cons
CVS is very weird on the front of job security. The security at the stores is variable. The officer doesn't inspect customers going into or out of the store some of which were obviously committing petty theft, even when reported via code over loudspeaker. However they stop all employees, search their belongings (ladies, that includes your purses!), and watch them over camera to make sure we take absolutely nothing from there store. We were not permitted to leave the store until management approved that we had no items.
Management give and take hours as they please. They tell you that if you have a problem with an employee,to call the CVS hotline anonymously. However, if you were to call, your call mysteriously got reported back to management and they would mock you in the store, cut your hours, or even fire you. I personally ended my last month of employment there with 0 store hours for the last two weeks and barely even 9 total hours for the weeks prior.
The management also doesn't always abide by company policy. Managers will smoke in the back of the store if they please, even if employees are non-smokers.
Advice to Senior Management
Do not blame your employees! Employees should be allowed to view camera evidence when they are "at fault" to defend themselves if accused of something unfairly by the management. If a mistake is seen, let the employee know instead of blasting it over store speakers via loud speakers.
I understand favoritism.... Excuse me, "seniority" in the workplace, but at least be fair with all of the employees. If one gets caught red handed doing something they weren't supposed to do, don't slap them on the wrist and cut the hours of an innocent employee that wasn't even present at work the day an incident occurred.
If an employee requests to be transferred to another store, even if it is more of a commute for the employee, review it, don't cut the hours for the employee, tell them to quit and reapply at another store.
Pros
could get as far as you propose yourself
Cons
the way human resources works in situations with payroll
Advice to Senior Management
appriciate the good work
Pros
Good employer to temporarily have while going to school or completing higher education. Good Place to advance and earn salary.
Cons
Few hours depending on the season, positions are very expendable and sometimes management is not qualified and/or promoted based on need.
Advice to Senior Management
Always treat employees as customers as they are the backbone of the company even if at store level and easily replaceable.
Pros
Management is friendly enough, or keeps to themselves, and has been flexible with scheduling. Not a difficult job at all.
Cons
Extremely boring and unfulfilling. Underpaid considering the living cost in the area. Cameras watching your every move, with management able to log into camera system remotely to watch.
Advice to Senior Management
Praise employees when they are doing a good job. AND offer them advice on what they could be improving upon.
Pros
job security if you ae willing to do everything your self
Cons
no opportunity for advancement and very low pay for work require no support staff or hours to do the demands of job.
Advice to Senior Management
open door policy non excisting, if u want customer service provide hours for staff support.
