    Pros

There are always new projects and initiatives to work on. They have a vast set of artifacts to use over 100 for the PM methodology. They follow PMBOK so a great place to learn Project Management, not many companies will give you this extensive experience and expertise. From a career stand point there are lots of great opportunities that CVS Caremark provides to work above your level.

    Cons

The ability to work above your level rarely turns into a promotion in title or salary. With the new enterprise PM leadership they have made the PM position into a project analyst all you do is administration type of tasks. They have split the PM responsibilities out and shifted the escalation tasks mainly to Application Managers or Technical Leads.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The new CIO about two years ago did a good job at creating more levels of job positions for a career path, but from a project management perspective especially in IT that rarely translated into promotions for people. If you were a manager they pulled everybody up and made them a senior manager without merit, but if you were an individual contributor you were stuck at the advisor level with almost no possibility to be pulled up to a senior advisor. I think it's time to look at some of the project managers and promote them like you did the managers two years ago.

    Pros

    They have Many good Employees
     And Great Training.
They work with your personal schedule.
So far seems like an all around good company.

    Cons

They have a really Long application process.
Their internal Software for modules is Not Mac friendly so for me all upkeep must be done at library or on the job and that's difficult.
They have Many Lazy Pharmacists that are not team players and will complain the whole shift making it at times unbearable.
Compared to other retail companies it seems that they have Low pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a way to weed out all the complainers and lazy people and you'll be set. Also remember that the customer is not always right and back up your employees.

    Pros

very busy pharmacy. Usually always had something to do. ability to transfer to another store if moving.

    Cons

not enough training for pharmacy technician. had to mostly pick up the skills on my own. I worked at a pharmacy much too busy for the amount of technicians working. Almost daily I had to stay after hours or come in early.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

spend more time actually training your employees. Rather than one day with a trainer, maybe spend a few days with people who actually work in that pharmacy to train the new hires.
