I worked at CVS Health (Less than a year)

    Pros

Deadline driven - Contributions are valued - Work is respected - Good place to be in a mid-management level

    Cons

Internal politics and member preferences ruin your chances of getting promotion. You need to work under the right people to get a good pay increase.

    Advice to Management

All the processes should be more transparent.

    Pros

Health benefits are decent. Management really professional on the East Coast. Employees were great to work with.

    Cons

Like any retail job, a lot of the customers are rude, very rude. The people that hardcore coupon at CVS are a nightmare to deal with. Also, the pay. There is no reason why we can't be making a little extra when the stores are always so heavily understaffed.

    Advice to Management

A well paid employee is a happy employee. A happy employee makes happy customers. Happy customers return. In turn, CVS makes more money...

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Caremark (PBM)- work with great people who care about you CVS (Retail)- no pros

    Cons

Caremark (PBM)- work long hours, too many clients that need too much attention CVS (retail)- work long hours, 80's retail mindset, terrible leadership, no advancement opportunities

    Advice to Management

Caremark (PBM)- lessen expectations right out of the gate, allow employees to learn about the industry, lessen the workload CVS (retail)- be more flexible and keep an open mind to new work strategies (work from home, etc.)

I worked at CVS Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent benefits. Corporate culture emphasizes professional development and even allows for employees to take on new roles in completely different business groups as long as the change provides a strong fit towards the professional development plan.

    Cons

Relative to other companies i've worked at, there is a greater need to network and expand one's sphere of influence in order to effectively deliver results and advance a career.

    Advice to Management

If expanding the Digital group remains a strategic priority than promoting a cultural acceptance towards remote work environments will be key.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexibility, great people to work with, great benefits. This is a great company to work for and explore different opportunities.

    Cons

Long work hours - not a good work/ life balance. Communication within departments is a challenge. There is a lack of experienced folks.

    Advice to Management

Really need a bench of folks going thru mentoring to gain knowledge of the company and different roles within sales and account management who can step in and help during busy times of the year.

    Pros

They will pay you and give some overtime. Also if you are perfect, then they will promote you.

    Cons

Only if you are perfect, will they promote you. Customers are always first before their employees. Never keeps up to date with hardware and software.

    Advice to Management

Grow a heart and start realizing your employees are humans, not machines.
