I have been working at CVS Health full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Fun work environment, everyone gets along and helps each other. Obtaining cross training in different areas is very easy. Returning customers!

    Cons

Insurance is not the best. Great discount on non sale items but no discount on items that are on sale. Often work long hours and do not get the days off that you need.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better report with employees is needed!

I have been working at CVS Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are many opportunities to train and expand on various skills. Transferring seems to be relatively easy (if necessary)

    Cons

It's definitely a company where WHO you know matters more than WHAT you know. The pay-to-responsibility ratio is NOT balanced. EX. Title- Shift B Supervisor. Responsibilities- Assistant Manager. Pay- Department Manager.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider placing as much care and focus on the well-being of your employees as you do the customers with whom they interact daily. Become more personable so as to understand the workings and dealings of the company at the "microscopic" level.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Will hire without a lot of experience for an account management position. You can gain good experience in a excellent field. Good pay with opportunity for career advancement.

    Cons

Teams are excellent, but work life balance can be difficult especially during the last several months of the year through the beginning of the next. Account managers are expected to be able to handle a large book of business while constantly adding more responsibilities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire for the demand and do not over burden your employees.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Personally challenging, impact to healthcare and day-to-day experiences of patients/customers lives.

    Cons

Bureaucratic, slow decision-making, culture mired in old ways despite advertising to the contrary. front-line workers and managers have dwindling resources

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest back into the frontline, customer-facing folks. Evaluate long-time executives, directors and managers who don't walk the talk. Prioritize the customer first, employee second and Wall Street last - you've got it backwards today.

I worked at CVS Health full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company offers great healthcare benefits which included company contribution to your health saving account. CVS matchs 401K contributiosn and you can buy additional company stocks at a discounted price.

    Cons

Upper management only care about metrics, from customer satisfaction to inventory management to patient outreach. And technician hours get cut to a minimum, making it impossible to perform your duties as a pharmacists, let alone provide great customer service and complete the tasks necessary to improve your metrics.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support your team and the people who help the store run smoothly everyday. Don't let metrics determine everything.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I like the people I work with in my particular pharmacy.
Turnover is so high you can always get a job there.

    Cons

The usual, to much to do, not enough tech hours to do everything. Low tech pay, so high turnover. The company will take the customers side no matter how wrong it is.
Not that great of health insurance.
Can't get off if sick or haven't turned in notice a year in advance.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The company seems very stable and you don't need to worry about layoffs. Nice subsidized cafeteria. The technology in IT promotes a great learning ground. If you can survive a year in IT, you can look for another position inside the company and there are always openings.

    Cons

The pay is lower in Woonsocket/Cumberland, RI, not much negotiating, benefits are expensive. Mytime is not ideal, tip - negotiate for as much vacation as you can. Getting into IT Management seems much easier than at other companies and therefore, managers are less experienced. (May just be my observation from a more myopic viewpoint of my own larger team.) The commute can be very much more trafficky than you may expect as there is really one way in and one way out of the industrial park near One CVS Drive. Many of the people who work in IT are obligated to the company; due to this, others take advantage. They squeeze as much of your time as they can get and there's no way to say no, Application Managers in IT are constantly pushing for more. Work life balance is not a balance at all...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Think about Market Basket, treat your employees better... Seriously, there needs to be a huge shift in how employees in IT are treated.
