I have been working at CVS Health

    Pros

Opportunity, flexibility, forward thinking, management pay, challenging, health savings account, matching 401k

    Cons

Can be excessively challenging, store level favoritism, tight store hours, bad insurance, lack of training

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please please please train your people, after 1 year I've seen 4 DMs, 11store managers and countless employees turn over just because they have no idea what to do.

    I worked at CVS Health

    Pros

Great bonus's. Co-workers were great and my first manager was awesome. Second manager wanted to sit in his office with his feet up and play on the Internet.

    Cons

No work/life balance and management is incompetent. New manager did not take the time to learn any of his team roles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do some cleanup on the managers that are not willing to be an active participant in the team and mentor.

I have been working at CVS Health full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

It may only be because I have such a great manager, but in my opinion it doesn't get much better than CVS. Base pay is excellent--bonuses and stock options are outstanding. Expectations and hours are reasonable, which is rare in the IT world.

    Cons

Healthcare plans have gotten progressively worse over the past several years. Also there's WAY more red tape than is absolutely necessary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CVS does a great job in making sure its employees feel valued and it does a lot to retain its employees. However, not all employees need to be retained. My advice would be to continue putting effort into retaining the top talent but to also put some effort into culling out some of those who aren't contributing. Also, for those who are contributing, the policy against permanently working remotely should be lifted. In this way we'll be able to attract and retain the top talent, regardless of where they are located.

I worked at CVS Health full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

I cannot say there are many pros regarding this company, perhaps because there is no work/life balance, they only care about the money they can make

    Cons

Cons, let me see where to start - everything is a con in this company. They treat their hourly employees as trash, meaning they are expendable. The benefits, although they taught that they are a health care company, are less than satisfactory

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

start treating all employees as valuable; not just your salaried employees. Great management starts at the top and the leadership and how they look down their nose at hourly employees is disgusting. .

I worked at CVS Health part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

A lot of good experience, exposure to different scenarios when dealing with customers, great people to work with!

    Cons

A lot is expected from a job that should be paying more, too much commitment when only getting paid base salary, only hires as part-time so no benefits offered

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pharmacists are great, approachable and knowledgeable. They are the ones most likely to look over veryone in the pharmacy

I have been working at CVS Health

    Pros

Short commute, stable employment, subsidized healthy food

    Cons

Promotions are very subjective and not based on skill but rather on how much you kiss up to your manager. Work is overly-demanding, regularly working 50+ hours. Difficult to take vacation. Paycheck only once a month.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire enough employees to do the work. Train managers to be managers.

I have been working at CVS Health

    Pros

If you are a young go getter, don't work here.

    Cons

You will be sold on a job that has no real impact.
Office environment works on a retail schedule, so 10 hour days are common with no benefit for doing so.
Health Benefits are some of the worse I have seen.
