I have been working at CWS Apartment Homes full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Offers great company values and benefilts.

    Cons

Growing too fast. New employees are coming in at a much higher rate than dedicated employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay needs to be consistant with title throughout that region.

I worked at CWS Apartment Homes full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company provides wonderful off-site team building activities and fun days together as a company.

    Cons

Not the highest paying in the industry but the training is fantastic

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's tough working for a smaller property as a Leasing Agent or Community Assistant/Director. Lots of weekends to work.

    Pros

Hourly wages are higher than normal market.
    Closed on Sunday
    Paid Holidays

    Cons

    Communication is lacking
Often hires from outside the company before promoting within.
As company is growing, poor decisions are being made.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have better communication channels with your on-site staff. This company has a one size fits all approach when every apartment community is different.

I worked at CWS Apartment Homes full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Closed on Sundays, career apparel card, nice rental discount, video shop bonus incentive of $1,000, fully paid training, nice raises.

    Cons

Management only cares about revenue, the managers gossip way too much, back stabbing and biased within the managers, low pay, managers are never present at work so they don't truly see what goes on, bullying from management (they don't lead as leaders).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand that most of the revenue comes from your leasing consultants. Treat them fairly and take the time when necessary to truly see a situation. Have a no-tolerance contract for gossip and bullying. Pay the onsite staff a little more if they juggle multiple jobs because the managers are not around most of the time.

    Pros

Great company to work for. Great people to work with. (Also love the career apparel incentives. $1100 a year for clothing!)

    Cons

I really hate the secret shops, but you can get $1000 if you make a 100.

I learned a lot, and it was a small enough company that you knew everyone you worked with.

I worked at CWS Apartment Homes full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Everyone was friendly; it was small enough that you knew everyone's name; they had several events throughout the year to show their appreciation for everyone's hard hard.

    Cons

There wasn't much room for advancement in my department; there was a large disparity in pay rate between the departments and among the ranks in my department that didn't seem to coincide with the actual amount of work being done.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would have been nice to get recognized for the hard work done by the IT Team; it may not be a revenue-generating department, but without IT to fix everyone's problem there would have been any revenue because no work would get done at all.

I have been working at CWS Apartment Homes full-time

    Pros

    Closed on Sunday
    Nice leasing office

    Cons

Complete employee turnover within 3 months except Community Manager at the community I worked at, hard work and long hours for little pay, minimal commissions, expected to have the right answer every time, employees fired before retraining/corrective action taken, better participate in company activities or else...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on improving current communities instead of looking for the next one to buy. Pricing inaccuracies and wrong apartment layouts on the website and brochures that were not corrected for months which had to be explained to guests over and over.

I worked at CWS Apartment Homes full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company provides decent pay and good benefits. They provide decent budgets to provide social events for the properties.

    Cons

Mediocre training. Too much emphasis on HR and not enough on software used and leasing in general. Terrible management. Very bias and judgemental regional and property managers. Cut-throat atmosphere. Lacking consistency in fair treatment of employees and residents. Experienced employees are overlooked for promotions due to family and friends being promoted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees. Invest in the employees who actually care about the residents. Demand honesty. Drug test regularly!

I have been working at CWS Apartment Homes

    Pros

They do give a substantial housing discount if you deiced to live there, and since I live there the commute is nice.

    Cons

Arrogant misogynistic management, no communication lack of time off bottom of the barrel pay. There is no respect for work life balance or family, expected to conduct business with maintenance from the doorway of my apartment at 8PM.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more aware of the the talent or lack there of the people that you work with all day, when a customer complains about some one because they are rude and hateful, they may be like that every other time your back is turned or you are just out of ear shot.
