Advice to Senior Management
A strange air of unreality exists in most areas - the staff simply don't believe the hype anymore. You've lost the faith of the employees. Ignore the shareholders for a moment, and stop changing things - let it settle, invest in your people, and most of all; stop lying to them!
Working at C&W was an interesting experience in witnessing how it's entirely possible to destroy a company from within using just demoralisation. The offshoring, the redundancies, the pay freezes, the under-staffing, the lack of investment, and the almost constant barrage of seemingly irrelevant missives from the ivory towers. The bullying management style up top pervades down through every crevice of the organisation. I've never been in or near a company so utterly dysfunctional as C&WW.
Pros
I had to do lots of international trips, meet people from all around Europe, enjoyed gatherings in the evening. if you get to work for a fair boss, you'll love C&W and its opportunities.
Cons
I got to work for one who loved to harness people and talk bad behind their backs. He was very proud of himself as a whole person, but in fact I've never seen such a fake person. So be aware!
Advice to Senior Management
it's not all gold what shines... don't always believe what another boss tells you. he might only want to harness a 3rd person...
Pros
Experience, networking, benefits, salary, union
Cons
Life balance, lack of growing opportunities, ever changing priorities, misleading management
Advice to Senior Management
embrace the challenges
Pros
flexability of working and the most of the guys on the ground (men and women are great
Cons
my current pay and some people are in it to win rather than team work
Advice to Senior Management
