I have been working at Cable & Wireless Worldwide full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Exposure to new and emerging technologies. Vendor specific training

    Cons

Too much is expected from individuals, it's a do more with less culture. Therefore quality of work output is not up to standard.

    Advice to Management

Provide more training. Proper definition of roles needed as current roles are too cross functional not allowing staff to perform at their maximum potential.

  5. Helpful (1)

A great place to work but opportunity for advancement limited in the USA due to small size of staff.

    Pros

    - Flexible work hours. - Work at home 2x days per week. - Collaborative working environment - Very "global" way of working - Competitive pay - Small size encourages entrepeneurial spirit

    Cons

    - USA is very small in size, so limited advancement opportunities - UK based organization makes it hard to feel "connected" to home office - Limited global product set - makes selling in to US accounts difficult

    Advice to Management

For a truely global presence, product management needs to focus on creating products and services that exist across all geographies.

The company treats employees very poorly and does not present equal opportunities for all. The company does not listen to any third party opinion thereby taking wrong decisions

I worked at Cable & Wireless Worldwide full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

They care about their employees, the internal training is good, it was quite an enjoyable place to work. there was a friendly atmosphere.

    Cons

Unfortunately the Company was mismanaged financially. The executive did not know where to go with the company and eventually destroyed it.

    Advice to Management

They should have focused on what they did best. UK Telecommunications. They diversified too far, both geographically and technically. They became obsessed with expansion.

I have been working at Cable & Wireless Worldwide full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's good company to work with.Started with Cable & Wireless Worldwide and continuing after it has been taken over by Vodaf

    Cons

Micro management has come into pics post Vodafone acquirement. Employee benefits have gone down the lane.Lot of company facing policies are implemented keeping employees at bay. Cost cutting is huge and thus reducing the benefit of hike & growth and lot.

    Advice to Management

Treat the employees like human being and not as work machine.Give them proper compensation for the work load. If you are putting the internal opportunity then allow employees to avail them instead of keeping them waiting for long and filling the positions from outside. Try to retain the employees with better facility. Improve the work-life balance instead of putting the employee under tremendous work pressure. Increase the employee benefits. Disclose the policies in detail. Keep the employees in loop with major changes instead of the decision to be thrown at the employees irrespective of his/her agreement to accept the same. There are lot more.
