I worked at Cadbury full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Market Leader in Chocolates - Targets & Growths never an issue...
Very strong in systems and processes.
Highly data oriented - even outlet level sales can be tracked anytime.
The team members and various functions are usually quite friendly, supportive and helpful.
In my times, the bosses were EXCELLENT. Everyone was a gentleman / lady, the company culture was very nice. (Of-late, am hearing a rumor that this has gone for a toss.)
Distributors are majorly stable, though some corrections have been happening of-late.

    Cons

Lags behind in small toffee / candy / bubblegum. But the company has high hopes for those.
Same with Bournvita, Oreo and Tang.
Acute stock issues in high selling products. So everyone will push one to achieve targets with slow moving lines.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep the tag of being Employee Friendly. Your products will sell anyhow, provided there is enough production. And don't oppress the peaceful distributors, they are an asset to the company.

Former Employee - Technical Executive in Coimbatore (India)

I worked at Cadbury full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

service oriented and training based job

    Cons

low salary and more over same salary to both UG and PG graduated employees.
    no office for technical executives
immediate decisions regarding office meeting without prior intimations to the executives.
No difference between an Under Graduate degree employee and a Masters degree employee

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider our degrees and fix the salary accordingly.
categorize the hierarchy in the field level as sometimes field officers influences Technical executives.
after recruiting your employees for a concerned job, provide them 1 or 2 month of training and evaluate their efficiency so that they can prove their ability in field level. This is entirely absent in this area.

I have been working at Cadbury

    Pros

Company is more tolerant and soft towards employees with a cultural fabrc knitted into it. people ar not harsh in their day to day behaviour and managers are not bully type. People in general are respected as humans.

    Cons

mangement is scary fo decisons and repsonsibility is pushed downa wards from the top. Lower work force is not aligned with mangement and the sam is not acceped as s aproblem resulting in every one downg the job 2-03 levels below and hence vaccum in liong term strategy. Decsions are adhoc and unplanned. Most importantly every one does the job of other person and takes pride rather than doing their own.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Complete revamping the system from the scratch and puuting system before the person in all repects. Stop personifying the success and failure. In good system , no one can perform badly and in same way in a bad system, no one can perform in a better way. Puuting very clear accountability and resposnisbility bot at the top and bottom as they are the back boen. Should have a control on work force at the bottom in terms of discipline and resposnisbility which absolutely non- exstent as of now and noone like to bell the cat and take the bull by horns. If it coninues, already on teh down path.
