Pretty decent pay for someone with no experience

    Table Games Dealer (Former Employee)
    New Orleans, LA

ProsDealers are the highest paid non-salaried employees. As a part-time dealer, you could easily make 35K working 4 days a week. You don't even have to be experienced because they teach you how to deal. The best customer service training EVER.

ConsWork-life balance isn't the greatest, because you are basically expected to be available any day of the week and they often take your off days for holidays and city events. Also management goes through these spurts where they want to crack down on frivolous dress code violations (earrings, hair color, nail polish) and send you home or write you up.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Fun interview

    Host/Cashier (Former Employee)
    New Orleans, LA

    ProsFun interview and training process.

ConsThey told me that they would schedule my departmental training around my school schedule. It took them almost a whole month to schedule me, and the department head had an attitude about it.

    Fun and entertaining for some

    Casino Dealer (Former Employee)
    New Orleans, LA

ProsYou can make alot of money, working part time or full time if you like the party atmosphere. Be nice to customers and you will earn large tips eventhough they are shared with all dealers for that night of work. It pays off on your bi weekly pay check.

ConsIt's smokey and that is a health hazard and can be stressful on a family person working nights and no holidays. Think about it money isn't everything.

Advice to Senior ManagementWork for a couple of years and pay off some bills and get out because that party never stops.

Security is underpaid for the performance required of them.

    Security (Current Employee)
    New Orleans, LA

    ProsThe benefits package is good.

ConsThe pay is not equal for the job done. Security is the most important section of Harrah's,yet they are the lowest paid, next to EVS.

Advice to Senior ManagementIncrease Security pay and the quality of employees will show in the work ethics.
