    Lots of opportunities for advancement

    Pros

    Average pay, Its a job. Hoping to get full-time soon.

    Cons

    Systems are down a lot of the time, CCU seems to buy the cheapest computer programs that they can find. Members come in and complain that there is extremely long hold times to the call center, sometimes over 45 minutes. Members without computers or smartphones are then forced to drive to our branch (unless they know how to navigate that thing that Cal Credit calls an automatic phone teller system). Some members enjoy coming in for transactions while others do not. I dont mind either way except when I cant take my breaks.

    Advice to Management

    Spend a little more money and buy decent computer programs that are user friendly and don't break down so often so us employees can help our members more. Our cash dispensers are down too often and our main program goes down too often also.

    Great Salary and benefits, rewarded for good work, access to senior management

    Small institution, limits opportunities to work closer to home

    Advice to Management

    If the economy allows I would like to see more branches. However management is extremely supportive. We get paid well and it is based on our performance. They have a corporate awards program where we can win a trip of we work hard. I have won once. Many of the managers have been promoted from my position. Keep doing that. It makes people respect the credit union. Unlike most companies our voices are heard. All new emoloyees say how much the love the credit union. I hope to grow with this company.

    Pros

    Flexible hours.
    Good pay, benefits and incentives.

    Cons

    Very uncomfortable working environment at Corporate Office. Was in 2 departments and both were similar. Sexual harassment happens often and is encouraged by a handful of senior leaders.

    Very difficult to move up fast unless you are willing to ignore morals, go out drinking with management on a regular basis and learn to turn your head the other way.

    Work can be chaotic as some management staff is never present and others have to pick up slack.

    General direction from leadership is missing.

    Most employees are in over heads as hiring based on willingness to party not ability to do work.

    The CU is a small friendly banking environment. The customer/member is number one.

    Cons

    There are too many manual processes that should be automated. All positions are non exempt except managers.

    Pros

    Flexible work hours
    Reasonable benefits
       - paid vacations
       - pension plan

    Day after Thanksgiving is a holiday
    Monthly birthday cakes and bagels
    Good for people knowing nothing but pleasing the boss,

    Cons

    Lack of communication within Credit Union
    Lack teamwork within and between departments
    High cost in paying for benefits like health insurance
    Difficult to get a promotion from within the company
    Management is quick to tell you what you've done wrong, but very slow to tell you what you've done well.
    Most of the work time is spent on office politics not the actual work
    Dishonest

    Strong favouritism
       - Other employees are reprimanded for the favored employee's errors
       - Favored employees receive regular and overtime pay while performing non-work related activities during work. (organize outside sport activities, type newsletters and meeting minutes for outside oganizations, play games on cellphone and IPod 4-6 hrs/day, etc)
      - Favored employees are allowed to harass/threaten other employees causing some employees to quit

         - indecisive
        - reactive not proactive

    Advice to Management

    Direct managers/supervisors acknowledge or praise employee for a job well done. The praise should be given to the employee who had actually did the work.
    Reduce harassment within the workplace
    There are two side to a story. Listen, really listen to both side.
    Prevent a hostile work environment by not revealing the name of the person who reported customer complaints against an employee
    Promote teamwork not dissension
