    Pros

    Very flexible hours and really nice staff.

    Cons

    Managers can get very abrasive sometimes and sometimes they can be very nice. It depends on the day.

    Pros

    Managers are usually well-trained and are very nice. They can be very flexible with your hours and are very considerate when it comes to last-minute changes, as long as it's for a good reason.

    Cons

    We always run out of bread and it compromises service

    Pros

    Plenty of opportunity to cross-train (server/bartender/host/take out). Lots of opportunity for promotion to manager from hourly employee, if you so desire.

    Cons

    Too much change at the leadership level leading to inconsistencies at the restaurant level. Benefits sliding downhill fast. Long-term employees had their pay and benefits cut, food that used to be deeply discounted for hourly employees is now 50% off, which is still quite expensive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat your hourly employees with dignity, as was done in the Rick-and-Larry-era, and the guests will return. People dine out for the experience as much as the food, and unhappy staff leads to unhappy guests.

    Pros

    The people I work with are great. Management is good as well.

    Cons

    Clientele that comes in often assume to not tip well because it is corporate. Company as a whole continuously changes uniforms requiring you to buy new ones.

    Pros

    Food is great and fresh. They have high standards for that. They have a good reputation.

    Cons

    Management lacks passion for the industry in WA. Senior Management is not interested in developing those committed to the company and continued to hire externally. Had a sense of discrimination within the company. Good work went unnoticed unless you pointed it out.

    Promote those who love the brand and committed to the company. You cant teach that! Passion and attitude is everything in this industry!

  8. I have been working at California Pizza Kitchen (less than a year)

    Pros

    Minimum wage for tipped employees is very good. Shifts are at most 5-6 hours. This is the only restaurant I've worked for where you get a break. Easy to request days off and to get shift coverage.

    Cons

    Organization gets a 2 at best. Everything takes at least one extra step that isn't necissary. Tips are greatly lower then they should be because of a lack of communication between the hosts and bus staff. Even when it's slow you still get tripple sat. Training is half hearted because they want to keep payroll down.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Properly train your staff. Don't hire 8 at a time, focus on one or two and let them get to know what everything and where everything is. Have accountability, not just when it suits you, all the time. Perhaps it's just the location I work at but it seems the inmates run the asylum.

    I had friendly co-workers who were helpful and understanding, flexible hours, good location personally, thorough training

    The customers at this restaurant are particularly rude customers, wages and tips are lower than other restaurants in the area
