I have been working at California State University, Northridge full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They will always work with you especially if you are a student. The hours will always work with your class schedule.

    Cons

I have not had any major problems while working at csun. The only that I didn't like at first is the fact that they only pay you once a month as opposed to bi weekly like most other companies.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. The people in the chs department are all top of the line and very helpful

I have been working at California State University, Northridge full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

some great faculty with strong talents in many departments along with a diverse student body make for a great setting.

    Cons

the large bureaucratic organization grows more challenging to work with each year. Talk about change and innovation is exactly that - talk. The risk adverse mindset which is in part a CSU system issue but certainly a local CSUN value will make it difficult to unleash the change and innovation necessary to reach the institutions potential.

    Advice to Management

stop centralizing power and authority and push more control to the department level. control would mean managerial decision making and money. allow innovation to reward at the level of the innovators.

I worked at California State University, Northridge (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, and also there were a select few students who really cared about their performance. Those students were a motivation to review the professors materials prior to work.

    Cons

the hours that were the most busy were those just prior to exams. The nature of the job, but still annoying.

    Advice to Management

The professor base at Csun is fantastic! They care about their students and I have often found that many will go the extra mile to ensure the victory of their students.
