Former Employee – worked at Cambria
Pros – Great compensation
They throw great events
The product is high end and well made
Some great talent in PR, marketing events, and publishing
Cons – Senior Management is inexperienced and treats people very poorly.
No respect or trust for their employees.
Benefits are poor- very expensive healthcare plan and no dental.
No mentoring or coaching from management.
No work/life balance- and no plans to have more balance in the future.
Rule by fear rather than incentive or respect.
Advice to Senior Management – Appreciate your staff and help them grow...people will be happy to work hard if you treat them well (not just because you pay them). Hire some people with good people management skills for the marketing department- they will help fix some of the problems. Do annual or bi-annual reviews.

Current Employee – been working at Cambria full-time
Pros – Great products. Strong growth. Good, hard-working, dedicated employees. If you're adept at being busy, vs effective, then there are good opportunities here. Decent, if not complicated, healthcare benefits.
Cons – Terrible communication; Actually this is the organization's Achilles Heel.
Heavy-handed management style and attitude towards employees and customers. Empowerment is not in management's vocabulary. Not a trusting environment. Being busy is more valued than being effective.
No dental plan.
Advice to Senior Management – Let up on the top-down, take-it-or-leave it, heavy handed approach. Focus on the dedicated talent, of which you have an abundance of, and less on the few employees who may perform below average. "1984" was not a how-to manual. A communications seminar for mid to upper level management is highly recommended. Embrace the concept of empowering.

Former Employee – worked at Cambria full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Freedom of working out of a home office and making your own schedule day to day, week to week, etc.
Cons – Very poor communication from Management down. Not run like a sales operation although it is supposed to be. Cannot trust "Management or Leadership" There is no leadership. They do not trust their own employees. Care more about sales "reports" than actual business growth
Advice to Senior Management – Read Cons
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
