I have been working at Cambridge Investment Research full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly environment, offers training programs, decent benefits, employee idea / improvement programs, regular employee activities for holidays

    Cons

Rapid growth & turnover, 45 - 80 hour work weeks, low pay for industry, no remote positions, entry level jobs are testing ground for more desirable positions, fraction of percent raises, commonly see an use vs. them attitude from employees and upper management, implementation of erratic lean company practices

    Advice to Management

More initial formal training, higher raises and pay, offer remote positions, offer at work study time for gaining licenses, apply lean company practices across all employees

I have been working at Cambridge Investment Research full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The culture. Fellow employees and specific managers are awesome. Opportunity is far greater than anyone else in the area.

    Cons

The pay sucks. Average for Fairfield but what we do isn't average for Fairfield. Terrible compared to industry and positions. I feel like some are taken advantage of because our location doesn't provide many other opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Ask your people what they really think. Without fear of retaliation.

  6. Great company environment with supportive management and fellow employees.

I worked at Cambridge Investment Research as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

A hard-working environment where people genuinely care about doing their work well and treating the clients and other coworkers with respect.

    Cons

Location of the company in Fairfield, Iowa is not the best place to live, and compensation is known to be lackluster for many of the company's positions.

    Advice to Management

Cultivate a sustaining environment for younger professionals

    Pros

Customer Service is Friendly. Fairly wide open B/D and insurance platform.

A few too many hoops to jump through to submit business. Also will nickel and dime you for basic tools to support your business.
