    Pros

I get to work outdoors and gain experience in range burning. Learning lab procedures through on the job training has been good for future job prospects.

    Cons

Being a college research assistant doesn't pay well but it's better than nothing. I would like to have more time on the job to gain more experience.

    Advice to Management

Management is on top of things. They take care of their employees and take care of issues quickly. Keep up the good work.

    Pros

    Institution contributions to retirement plan

    Cons

Promotions based more on politics rather than merit, supervisors are unqualified, and pay is horrible.

I worked at Cameron University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good work environment, benefits, and a lot of actual focus on improving service and quality of education.

    Cons

Tiny town, very limited life outside of work. Also, lots of crime and poverty, the town really is polarized. There's still a lot of disconnect between university values, goals, and planning due to a lot of revising. There don't seem to be more (if any) tenure track positions opening.

    Advice to Management

The management is perhaps biting off more than it can chew in the sense of trying to be too many things: a community college, quality education, and improving student graduation and retention.

I worked at Cameron University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Engaging actively with the children. Creating new ideas so that they are able to learn more efficiently about art and such. Great teamwork and classroom experience.

    Cons

Short time in between periods, however that is expected.

    Advice to Management

    Everything worked out successfully.

I worked at Cameron University part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work was very good. I enjoyed working as a student employee. The hours were very flexible and the people are very friendly.

    Cons

The cons was that there was not enough money. They need to pay people more than what they work for. But other than that it was good.

I worked at Cameron University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There has been a complete turnover in the department so its a "fresh start" If you want to work in housing this would be a decent "first" job. Salary is $27000, furnished apartment, meal plan and $1000 summer stipend. Very long hours, rotational on call schedule, and a questionable fire alarm system. Training wise was none existent at the time. With the new director and a change in focus training should be excellent. Health benefits are good.

    Cons

Lots of cloak of dagger behind the scenes more so than other institutions.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you have ALL the facts before making decisions.
