I worked at Camp Bow Wow

    Pros

Working with the dogs is fun. The policies from corporate are usually good though follow through is sometimes lacking. There are a variety of task to do during the day so it's never boring.

    Cons

There are no benefits. The dogs are not always managements first concern. Some of the policies don't work the way they should.

CBW is an incredible place to work. The office has a great culture and everyone is supportive and willing to lend a hand when necessary. Continuing education and training are provided which allows for constant growth and the opportunity to succeed. Everyone has an open door policy so you can feel comfortable reaching out to anyone at anytime. To top it all off, you can bring your dog to work.

I have been working at Camp Bow Wow full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Camp Bow Wow is a great company to work for because what we do is about making animals Happy and Healthy! We are an innovative company in the way we take care of our furry, feathered and scaly friends. Camp Bow Wow is always looking for ways to care for the health and safety of animals and provides our customers with an inclusive array of services from not only Day Camp and Boarding but grooming, group and in home dog training thru our Behavior Buddies Program, and in home pet care with Home Buddies.

    Cons

Many people don't understand that this job is not just about getting to hang out with animals all day which it is but it is also hard work to take care of people's pets. It is about feeding and cleaning and making sure the animals are healthy. It is also about helping animals when they are sick or hurt and is like taking care of preschool kids! In today's society most peoples animals are like their kids and our goal is to give their pets the same care we would provide if they were their kids!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Almost all of our Camps are individually owned and operated. These Camp owners have invested their life saving into operating a Camp Bow Wow and almost all truly care about the employees that work for them and want them to enjoy their jobs! I have worked with lots of employees in these Camps who have worked for the Camp since they opened their doors over 8 years ago! These folks love their jobs and have found a career at Camp Bow Wow!
