    Pros

Awesome staff. Amazing clients. And the best campers in the world. I love my job and wouldn't trade it for anything! I started here when I was 15 volunteering and now I am the full-time manager for the facility! I would highly recommend anyone who loves dogs to come work here because it truly is the best job ever!

    Cons

Dirty job, work hard every day, always on your feet! Very high energy and can at times be stressful.

    Pros

Interact with the dogs all day, hands on experience working with dogs can be a foot in to many other areas of the animal industry. Bring your dogs to work free.

    Cons

Very hard work, lots and lots of cleaning, dirty every day with fur and slobber!

    Advice to Management

Create more opportunities to move up within the company.

    Pros

Working with dogs is the best part. You become familiar with the regulars. Staff was wonderful to work with.

    Cons

There are no benefits. Can be very stressful, especially around holidays. Lots of back breaking cleaning. Pay is minimal.

    Advice to Management

Give your employees some incentives for staying and working hard. Promote from within.

    Pros

If you love animals and getting to be around them and play, this is definitely for you.

    Cons

Long shifts, obviously working at any kennel requires you get 'down and dirty', If you prefer to stay clean and not leave smelling like dogs(sometimes wet dogs) this isn't for you.

    Pros

Gain experience with animals and dogs of many different breeds and different sizes, very accommodating schedule, higher salary than most places

    Cons

A lot of physical work and can be very understaffed (you can be in control of 35 dogs at one time), no time with other employees, very individual work cleaning with large equipment and many chemicals. The kennel seemed dirty no matter how much it was cleaned because of the amount of animals that were boarding.

    Advice to Management

Have more employees, better wages considering the intensity of work

    Pros

    Great product/service
    Bring your dog to work

    Cons

    No support from franchise owner
Delays from construction, events getting moved, etc. will cost you your job even though you have no control over those things

    Advice to Management

HQ believes that they can turn every franchise owner into a manager. However just because someone has enough $$ to buy a franchise location doesn't mean they know anything about managing a staff. When your turnover rates are high, maybe start looking at the Owner instead of the staff. Or bring in a manager to work for the owner.

  11. Not bad but A lot of physical work not very good pay.
