    Pros

Some really wonderful people to work with. Benefits are pretty good if you have been there a long time, and if you are a technical "professional."

    Cons

They seem to have gone bat-crap crazy over there. Executive leaders have no enterprise experience and clearly have some sort of agenda. The great company that Messrs. Thomas Camp, Herman Dresser, & Jack McKee built is just unrecognizable and how very sad that is. What was once a really outstanding firm, is now just not a place I can imagine anyone wanting to work.

    Advice to Management

You've terminated everyone there who knows anything about running a global consultancy, and you're now running this wonderful firm into the ground. Shame on you.

    Pros

The company have excellent benefits for someone with tough skin!

    Cons

A lot of bullying and trash talking goes on in this company also other employees should not know the educational background of others or be discussed on the phone for long periods of time by someone that's not even in the same state as the person they are talking about. Was told by my manager you are no allowed to say anything about the bullying

    Advice to Management

Its too bad that upper management does not actually care enough to talk to lower level employees to find out what may be happening on a daily basis.

    Pros

    - Virtually everyone you work with is both competent and motivated - large company - opportunity to transfer

    Cons

    - not the best time off/benefits package - large company, review process and rules are not tailored for all types of employees

    Advice to Management

    - empower your local area managers more... enable them to promote and advance a small amount based on truly excellent performance (like CAP or battlefield promotions in the military).

    Pros

Great place to start as an entry level engineer and leave after you get your P.E. The company invests in technology and employees have access to working tools.

    Cons

Typical Corporate environment with bureaucracy. Need to kiss management's ASS to get promoted. You need to keep your mouth shut because you don't want be on "the list". Yes on "the list". Lot of backstabbind. Whenever you ask questions, the management tells you it comes from Corporate...You can work your ass out but your performance will just be "Meet expectations".

    Advice to Management

Please understand that yound engineer want to be valued and know what is going on.

    Pros

Good mentoring opportunities for young professionals Excellent benefits package, including generous time-off policy Strong community involvement, especially in charitable outreach Employees encouraged to be active and visible in professional committees and societies

    Cons

Tolerant of workplace bullying Work-life balance a serious problem Few advancement opportunities for non-technical personnel Performance appraisals offer little constructive feedback Diversity sometimes valued at the expense of job performance

    Advice to Management

Stop talking about being the "employer of choice" until you clean up your act. CDM has a long way to go before it can claim such distinction.
