I have been working at Campbell Soup Company (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You can negotiate a good starting salary.

    Cons

This place is a lesson on how NOT to run a business. Millions spend on products people don't want. Desperate attempts to reinvigorate a dying brand that equals cheap ingredients, GMOs, highly overprovessed unhealthy food that the company is now trying to push overseas because Americans know better than to consume this garbage. Weak leadership has influenced a culture where what is important is not how you perform, but how well you are liked. No strategy, no forward thinking, "good old boys club" mentality and no innovation here. I give this company five years until it goes under, less time for the AFH org.

    Advice to Management

Denise Morrisson's leadership team is incapable of making hard, courageous decisions and is too tolerate of underperforming, sycophants throughout the organization. The culture is very sick and no one here is capable of fixing it. Nightmare.

I worked at Campbell Soup Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Strong brand identity, diversified product line. I really wish I had more to add.

    Cons

Politics are a nightmare. It's not about how you perform, but how you fit into their culture. Lots of grind, non value added tasks. Meetings...lots and lots of meetings.

    Advice to Management

What's the point? The bureaucracy is what this company is about. They will never embrace any new ideas....it's been proven again and again.

    Pros

The paycheck and benefits. All the good people are slowing leaving the company.

    Cons

Campbell's just offered retirement packages to anyone over 55 who had been with the company at least five years. How is this NOT discrimination? For years they have only hired young, white and thin people who have zero work ethic. But they push them up through the company. I caught one kid sleeping in his cube! So, what did they do? They promoted him!

    Advice to Management

    YOU are the problem!

    Pros

Nice office, try to keep up with technology,

    Cons

Since last CEO change, company no longer seems to be concerned with the employees as when Doug Conant was in charge, Known as one if not the company with the highest, fastest turnover rate in NWA

    Advice to Management

    Too much to verbalize

I worked at Campbell Soup Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The money wasn't too bad ... . . if you didn't mind not seeing your family. Advancement was easy but not always earned.

    Cons

Excessive hours. The company want to change but when it is time to take action, they weren't willing to follow through. Many of the projects a re recycled ideas from the previous management and green belts are handed out with the same thought process.

    Advice to Management

Follow through with what you say your going to do. Take less time in meetings and give time to put action to the plan.

    Pros

Competive pay and health benefits. A history of giving back to the community. Good facilities. Brands that were once highly respected.

    Cons

Poor morale, very political, several reorganizations to reduce staff, a growth strategy that isn't working and a CEO who doesn't know what she is doing. Leaders don't really are about people, only themselves. The present culture fosters a "me-first" mentality. The company's reputation is better than its performance. The reality is far worse than the perceptions of the company.

    Advice to Management

Bring in a new CEO and a new senior management team or sell the company. Treat people with more respect. Learn from your mistakes. Make a much greater effort to keep talented people.

    Pros

not much, soup sells itself, ugly people

    Cons

It's all uptight white people trying to be politically correct instead of being themselves. You better be a skinny, boring, mediocre person to fit in. Intelligence or thinking different are not welcome. Soup sells itself

    Advice to Management

    Your HR people suck

I worked at Campbell Soup Company full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Brand recognition. Decent pay. Looks good on resume

    Cons

Politics over all else, and Incredible bureaucracy. Their Gallup employee engagement measure is a joke... It is not anonymous and there are extreme consequences for being honest. Walking down the hallways with all the placards is eerily similar to Orwell's 1984. It apparently hasn't changed.

    Advice to Management

Change the culture and be a hungry efficient food company

    Pros

Employees are great. They really do care about there job. If they were given respect and gratitude for there work. They would work harder. This company doesn't get it.

    Cons

Supervision is terrible. They belittle employees. Company does not fix machines. They do not care about quality of product. Only quanity.

    Advice to Management

If you would respect the ones doing the work. They would work harder. You don't get that. Also, you have to many salary that are dead weight. If you cut them you could save a bundle.
