    Pros

Healthy life/work balance Iconic brands Recognized company in the food industry Outsiders have positive perception of this company, long established soup leader

    Cons

Poor management leads to slow progress and innovation - no accountability Lack of quality internal support for field teams, single resource for multiple key accounts isn't near enough Nonexistent training / onboarding plans - very difficult to learn their processes and become a part of the culture No sense of urgency to get things done - too many layers Duplication - Pepperidge Farms and CSC share many common roles, trim the fat - add where the best ROI makes sense

    Advice to Management

Invest in training your people, learn from experienced CPG professionals - many great employees come from successful CPGs, remove the bureaucracy and move with a sense of urgency - the marketplace is ever changing, you must speed up and adapt.

    Pros

Dynamic environment, excellent pay and benefits, beloved brands. Hard-working, intelligent people and opportunities to be involved in many things. Good opportunities for work/life balance. Excellent company commitment to corporate social responsibility.

    Cons

Competing priorities can create overwhelming workload. Unclear decision-making processes lead to an excessive number of stakeholders, and poor communication among all these decision makers can keep you running in circles.

    Advice to Management

Continue to follow through on strategic priorities and maintain transparent communication with employees. Improve prioritization and work to streamline decision-making processes.

    Pros

The money wasn't too bad ... . . if you didn't mind not seeing your family. Advancement was easy but not always earned.

    Cons

Excessive hours. The company want to change but when it is time to take action, they weren't willing to follow through. Many of the projects a re recycled ideas from the previous management and green belts are handed out with the same thought process.

    Advice to Management

Follow through with what you say your going to do. Take less time in meetings and give time to put action to the plan.

    Pros

Competive pay and health benefits. A history of giving back to the community. Good facilities. Brands that were once highly respected.

    Cons

Poor morale, very political, several reorganizations to reduce staff, a growth strategy that isn't working and a CEO who doesn't know what she is doing. Leaders don't really are about people, only themselves. The present culture fosters a "me-first" mentality. The company's reputation is better than its performance. The reality is far worse than the perceptions of the company.

    Advice to Management

Bring in a new CEO and a new senior management team or sell the company. Treat people with more respect. Learn from your mistakes. Make a much greater effort to keep talented people.

    Pros

CSC is a great company and you can have varied experiences if you manage your career appropriately and have the support of management.

    Cons

Culture has been fantastic with the exception of the last year, year and a half due to structural changes. Changes are still on-going.

    Pros

Wonderful people, great perks like on-site daycare and fitness center. People care about their work, and doing right by the consumer. They work hard and step up to overcome challenges.

    Cons

Culture in flux. Pendulum has shifted too far from valuing/investing in employees (Gallup model) to solely driving business results. Feels more transactional than team or people-focused. Businesses are being consolidated without additional people resources, so teams are stretched very thin.

    Advice to Management

Listen more. Seek to understand what's driving employee dissatisfaction. Resource businesses and projects appropriately - many critical projects are under-resourced. When a decision is made, stick with it. The back and forth is difficult for teams to manage.
