I worked at Campus Management Corporation full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good coworkers. Some of the best I've had! Good health insurance. Supervisors (for the most part) create a cooperative team spirit.
    Awesome people to work with.

    Cons

High level decision makers driving the company in free-fall on a painful collision course. The new technical leadership (as well as recent CEO who lead the company from his home in Georgia and never bothered to move until he resigned six months later) was absolutely clueless. Clients complain constantly. Corporate leadership has been a revolving door for years now. It's only a matter of time.
Work/Life balance is difficult to achieve. Insufficient time off or vacation time. Low pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the people that you still have. They are leaving in droves. Once you lose all the good ones, you will lose your job as well.

I have been working at Campus Management Corporation full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Been with company a long time. Saw us go through stellar growth. Company name became a national phenom, if not international by acquiring companies and going into other countries. Always felt you were a part of something that was on the verge of gangbusters or better.

    Cons

During growth period, lots of long hours and heard a lot of politics at the top. One direction one day, another the next. New management is breathing rational thought into things. We couldn't have gotten here without the growth and rapid fire mode. But it is nice to see the patient stabilizing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep it up. Hats off to the old guard for getting a lot of respected colleges on our roster. But liking the culture more with the next-gen leadership.

I have been working at Campus Management Corporation full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Location to major highways and restaurants

    Cons

Senior Executives who love to talk, talk, talk but with no substance behind what they say including latest version of a CEO. A real sense of scrambling to figure out where to sell, "shoot from the hip" mentality in Sales. No long term growth opportunities and just salvaging what they can to ramp up and sell it.

    Pros

Since product is so configurable there's always something new to learn, there's never a dull moment. Work life balance is appropriate.

    Cons

There have been some layoffs and turnover so there is limited staff. For this reason the workload has increased. Departments need to work together as one team.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stand up for your people. Stand up to higher management when their proposals are not logical.

I worked at Campus Management Corporation full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You can get away with doing very little actual work.

    Cons

If you do, actually work, there's not a decent reward system, it's easy to get locked into a position with no upward mobility, and management has no problem with making promises to employees that they have no intention of delivering on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your people like valuable resources instead of cattle
