I have been working at Canadian Tire full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The company culture is great and at an all time high. Employees are passionate and want to do great work. Lots of career opportunity to move up or laterally, but you have to want it and work for it (it's not handed to you). Great office location in midtown Toronto. Very supportive for employees at different stages of career - I recently came back after maternity leave and they accommodated me with a flexible work schedule. Overall a truly great employer.

    Cons

Can be some politics between work teams that are barricades to getting work done - no more so than any other large organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep involving employees in your vision, the culture has never been better! Corporate support of Jumpstart is truly inspiring as an employee.

Constant change and progress keeps you on your toes and engaged.
"We're all in it together" attitude
Focus on promoting from within versus hiring external
Great focus on career building and feedback for individual growth

    Cons

Politics plays a big role in cross-functional roles
Lots of red tape which hinders progress

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs to be clearer accountability - lots of finger pointing instead of talking about a solution to the issue.
