    Pros

Flexible hours, very accommodating to students, and early weekend hours.

    Cons

My two years of working at Canadian Tire have been very stressful and frustrating. The entire staff (including management) are completely irresponsible and unprofessional. There is a complete lack of authority which causes employees to deny their responsibilities which in turn creates a very unorganized and stressful environment. As a cashier, I receive many complaints every shift about the terrible customer service. As well, from personal experience, I feel as though working at Canadian Tire is one big popularity contest. Those employees who are more sociable and "popular" are usually well liked and are treated well (even when duties are unfulfilled) while the more quiet, independant workers are treated badly and are often embarrassed infront of staff and customers as well as taken advantage of frequently by management and so-called "popular" staff.

    Advice to Management

My advice to the management team at Canadian Tire is to assume their role as an authority figure without disrespecting or demeaning employees. As well, taking your personal frustrations out on employees is completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Management needs to understand there is a way to appropriately address employees without shaming or embarrassing them.

    Pros

-Most staff are very friendly and helpful.
    -10% discount.
    - I had to write 20 words minimum but there aren't enough Pro's for that.

    Cons

-Some management staff has a total disrespect for certain employees. Prejudice and sexist.
-Not much opportunity for wage increase
    -Minimum wage for most employees
    -Owner is unfriendly and rude

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. If they raise a concern about a certain member of staff (ESPECIALLY A NEW MANAGER) listen to them, or at least investigate. Totally decreases the staff's morale if they feel like they aren't being listened to.
