    Pros

The employees are like family. The customers are like family. We know each other on a first name basis, and we also have food days, and do other community projects to promote our community image.

    Cons

There is not as much $$ generated for salaries like in bigger institutions. Also mobility is a little harder as people need to leave a position that they like to hold onto longer in a community setting.

    Advice to Management

They are doing a great job, keep expanding!!!

    Pros

Good company. Solid financially. Family oriented. Great people to work with.

    Cons

Banks generally pay lower than other businesses at professional levels. Not always a lot of promotion potential.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people at all levels. Promote from within when able. Keep up the great bank!!

Good benefits and retirement plan. Open door policy and management is accessible. Great work/life balance.

    Cons

It's a place to work, not easy to advance in your career. It could take you years to receive a promotion.

    Advice to Management

    Recognize employees. Reduce favoritism

    Pros

The benefits and retirement are ok, probably better than average. One can luck out and get to work with some nice people. If you are a rocket scientist you will stand out which is good and bad.

    Cons

Very old fashioned thinking. Advancement and recognition based on who you know and how well you play the game. Performance seems almost secondary. Too many lifers who have never worked any place else and want to live back in the good ol'days. Just ask they will tell you. Not a place to keep your skills up or learn new things (keep up). Leadership lacks as does support staff.

    Advice to Management

Support staff are not holier than thou. There is too much power in the hands of those that really have no good reason for being in their positions other than they have been there for 20 or 30 years. Need to fire some of those people so that others can excel. Too bad it could be a good place if not for much of management.

    Pros

The bank has a relaxed and open culture and people are wiling to help out. Things are done very simply and there are generally no complications. It's a very low stress environment where people are totally committed to clients and customers.

    Cons

Because things are so simple and relaxed it is not a place to work if you are competitive or want significant growth. People there are less interested in evolving and growing and more intersted in not changing.

    Advice to Management

Be willing to change and listen to people who are the experts in certain fields. There are a lot of very smart people in the bank but they are not able to contribute and help push the organization forward. Give them the opportunity to grow the bank into the type of company it is capable of becoming.
