I have been working at Canon Australia full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great office building that fosters mobile working. Learning and development team have some strong and diverse training. Good salary packages. Good people and energy. Plenty of opportunity if you are willing to do the work!

    Cons

Sometimes there can seem to be a lot of change which can get frustrating as this affects projects you are involved with. Typical corporate gossips are alive and well. We still don't leverage expertise across business silos making it harder to get experience across different business areas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More x collaboration please. Also - please communicate your strategy more consistently and clearly from top down.

    Pros

Great Brand and staff discounts. You will work with some truly inspirational people...

    Cons

Recognition and rewards are not based on professionalism, skill set and/or achievements.

If you are popular, or a mate, or a yes person you will be promoted and rewarded - or even go on the annual employee overseas trip. In fact, your failures will be celebrated as positive achievements...it's all about keeping your mates happy and giving them opportunities regardless of qualifications, competencies and achievements...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Increase accountability.

Start again with your B2B division.

    I worked at Canon Australia

    Pros

The brand and product are amazing and the envy of all global competitors. Some departments and teams are very hard working and really want to do the best and work together well. Well paid. Opportunity to learn many new things and work across many departments.

    Cons

Negativity had been growing most likely due to the way well liked, but poor performing individuals were recognized and that was encouraged and modeled by said senior management. It became an environment that fostered popularity over performance and most employees are disengaged.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More than seven very professional high performers left the company in under ten months due to what some might consider bullying, lack of recognition, or the regular departmental restructures.

    Pros

Relax and work-life balance, good reputation in industry, good salary for sales and marketing, bargain employee price on Canon products,

    Cons

lack of accountability from those in charge, confusion of culture in the company - eastern and western cultural difference, lack of passion

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Remove the Chief Operation Officer who has mass up the company in just half year, and review the remuneration structure for both sales and back office
