    Pros

Working in an renowned company gives you a great exposure if you are willing to participate in everything and have somewhat leadership quality.
Good company for those who doesn't want to grow.
Govt. Office working time. (9-5) You can come whenever you want, leave whenever you want. Nobody cares in the world.

    Cons

Zero salary for people who actually work.
Too much internal politics, favoritism, worst managers ever.
No respect for the employees or the trainees.
No upcoming projects in S/W division so almost no future.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

What should I say. I don't think you'll ever be able to handle anything in a positive manner because you all look for personal benefit rather than company's.

I have been working at Canon India full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    *Good work-family life balance
*Rewards & recognitions are good for well performing employees
*Unlike typical sales organisation which only drives for numbers and not considerate for the emplyoess ,Canon has a human touch, Seniors works like mentors to bring out the best .
*Perfect work culture with respect for human values.
*Can easily spend 5years average becuase at the inittal phase the career growth remains on track

    Cons

*Pays less than many of the IT cos.industry
*Promotions are mere cosmetic changes with hardly any change in the profile
*very difficult to change into differnt verticals and climb up the hirarachy .
*Often frustrating when seniors stick to there postions for too long hindering the career growth of the juniors , sometimes have to leave the company for the same .

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Become more considerate to the career aspirations of the emplyoess specillay those who are in the system for more than five years, standardise the pay packages along with the paymasters in IT hardware industry which Canon can as it earns huge profits

A great company to pick up technical skills , and worst company in people management and goal setting.

I have been working at Canon India full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There are 2 divisions in Canon India software development, ISDC and COE .. this is specially for the COE division , although ISDC does not fall far from it.

    1. The senior management doesn't intervene in the technical decisions made by the engineers, so there is a - full on scope for any one who is keen on trying out new stuff and learn.

    2. The RnR (rewards and recognition) programme is good and achievers are rewarded ever quarter by gift cards.

    3. If the engineer displays good communication skills , he/she is allowed to communicate with the client.

    4. Compensation and bonuses are above average.

    Cons

    1. No SDLC practices followed , when asked "Which SDLC pattern are we following ?" the usual answer is: "agile pattern" . What they really mean is , if there is some job - Do it !, don't waste time in asking stupid questions.

    2. Since the management is not able to provide technical guidance and there is no Technical Architect , every engineer is doing what they feel like doing under pressure , the resulting code is a "MARVEL" to look at.

    3. The topmost brass is comprised of old sales champions who have no respect for technical intricacies and the way they want results is by bullying the development teams and pushing timelines.

    4. Timelines are decided randomly by the top brass, if the technical teams ask for 15 days , they are likely to get 4.

    5. Default expectation to come and work on Saturdays and Sundays.

    6. Delivery dates have NO relationship with amount of software written , some products are still waiting for a customer while they were rushed to the finish a 4 months ago and some demo's are committed to the client even before a single line of code has been written.

    7. No onsite for technical teams whatsoever .

All in all , this is a 15 year old company is displaying symptoms of a start-up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    None :)

    Negative Outlook
