    Pros

    A very large company with good values. There is a lot of training provided. There are opportunities for advancement in some fields. Most co-workers are a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

    There is a lot of reporting required. Reimbursement for expenses takes a long time. You have to be willing to play politics with the directors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Some locations have no one in the front office to greet customers and it appears that the company is closed. Is that an image you intend to project?

    Pros

    Canon and the Canon family can be a great place to work, if you are willing to dig in and do the work. There is room for advancement in some departments.

    Cons

    There are some Supervisors, Managers and Directors that should not be in their positions as they do not know how to lead or even communicate effectively with others.
    If you are lazy and complacent there is not much room for advancement.

    Pros

    Great name recognition with customers. Compensation so far is below personal expectations,have company vehicle but it is going away soon. Corporate training facilities are very impressive. With all recent corporate evolutions raises and advancements are on hold.

    Cons

    High level of focus on performance metrics, to an unrealistic point quite often. The employees transferred into the original office from Canon Business Solutions act like non team players.

    Start a reward system that is reasonably obtainable to an honestly hard working good performing individuals.The door to advancement should be opened to more candidates.

    Work / Life balance is poor. Honesty is not practiced in reporting. Many employees just going through the motions daily.

    Pros

    Canon is a great brand and manufactures great equipment. Benefits are wonderful. Base salaries are low in the copier industry.

    Cons

    The expoused company values are very strong but where they meet the road (in middle management) they are completely left behind. Middle management is weak.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Regularly reach into the ranks to learn what is really going on. This is not done and HR shouldn't be a tool for management to use against employees.

    Pros

    good benefits, decent pay. Schaumburg office is stationed in one of the high rises , enough windows to jump out of when you realize how miserable this company is

    Cons

    management has zero leadership skills. Middle and Upper management do not communicate to employees and make you feel like an idiot when asking questions. Work ethic is at a zero when middle management gossips about people's personal lives. Office morale is at a zero with lack of motivation besides the threat of being terminated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    start treating people like they matter. Remember your employees names. Read the emails that are sent to you instead of asking for answers 2 minutes before deadline, when the email was sent to you a day before
