Boston, MA

Former Employee – worked at Cantella & Co.

ProsThe laid-back atmosphere, four weeks vacation at the beginning, great medical benefits. They also sponsor your NASD/FINRA exams which will help you get a job elsewhere when you've had enough of getting nowhere at the company. It's also nearly impossible to get fired.

ConsThe laid-back atmosphere isn't as "laid-back" as they like to pretend. The compensation is horrible, and as a result cannot possibly attract high-level or even moderate-level talent for very long, so you're either working with entry-level kids who take off once they realize there are better opportunities elsewhere, or mid-level cast-offs from other companies. There is no room for growth, as there is just not enough room at the small company for upward mobility. The company is run by a couple of key people who would like to keep it that way and continue to promote themselves in title, salary, and importance. Positive reinforcement simply does not exist at Cantella.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhy advise Phil McMorrow of anything? He has nothing to do with the daily operations of the company.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
