I worked at Capelli NY full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

None except for a few friendly employees (not managers) who are probably nice because they are chained to their desk 10-12 hours a day and desperate for someone to take some of the weight off of their shoulders.

    Cons

Just read the other reviews, the positive review was most likely posted by management in an attempt to salvage their reputation on here. It is a sad and depressing place to work, you can hear a pin drop or a manager yelling or being condescending. Nothing but data entry and administrative tasks, low pay you punch a clock, no small talk or collaboration, cameras everywhere (think big brother), low pay, dated methods, not a creative or free thinking environment-you are expected to be a robot, no dental, horrible PDM system, managers are very suspicious of new employees not a welcoming feeling, unorganized database but yet obsessive about their "procedures", they give you a title but its just ceremonial, no fluidity in the product lines, did I mention "procedures", tons of paperwork everywhere (this is the 21st century by the way), all design and development is done overseas so don't even think you will provide any input, vague job listing and they pretend to be interested in your experience during the interviews. But all you will do is administrative work no matter how qualified you are or what your experience is. Dont drink the kool-aid, KEEP LOOKING.....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Rethink your business plan or close your doors. And STOP wasting talented peoples time, hire interns....

    Pros

Learn a lot in a short amount of time

    Cons

    Many Cons with this company!
    - Senior level management is verbally abusive towards their associates who work hard
    - Credit is never given for hard work put in
-They expect you to stay long hours without compensation
    -Extremely disorganized
-senior level management loves to criticize their team members in front of others.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to respect others and learn how to communicate the right way. This reflects the culture of the company as a whole and Im sure it trickles down from the CEO to mistreat others

I have been working at Capelli NY full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There are none. This company is awful and greedy to work for.

    Cons

Verbally abusive managers, below industry salaries, no bonuses, and forced long hours with no overtime. Upper management takes all the credit for good work and throws people under a bridge as a scapegoat.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

CEO is greedy and underpays females!

    good stepping stone

Former Employee - Product Design Assistant

    I worked at Capelli NY

    Pros

It is a good place to get your foot in the door, I didn't feel it was a place to make a career, just a stepping stone

    Cons

There was no growth opportunities. There were many people there at the time I was that felt this way. As many times as I talked with my manager about being given more work, I was just yes-ed. I was there for 2 years and was still doing the same thing as day one. My department went through 5 people within a year, and all these people left for other jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I think they need to take more interest in the employees that really want to learn and grow with the company, I was upset that as many times as I said I wanted to advance and learn I was never taken up on this.
