Pros
Capgemini has a very competitive and challenging atmosphere and felt that either you hated the type of work and left within a year or you hung around and learnt the tricks of trade and did well.
Cons
Capgemini has a very distateful dead weight Directors & VPs which dont do anything and seem highly incompetent. Capgemini executes a culling process every year for the bottom feeder consultants, similiar steps need to be in place for the VPs and Directors.
Advice to Senior Management
Certain consultants need constant mentoring and caring while others are runaway champions, either senior managers allowed full rein or were very "motherly". A fine balance needs to be achieved where the consultants/senior cons feel support and independance at the same time.
Pros
An ok place to be in. I am pretty new so still learning the ropes. The proffessionlism of consultants are good.
Cons
Hardly any training provided, conselling be senior members are inadequate or non existant. Expected to take up any role. Difficult to build up specialist knowledge.
Advice to Senior Management
Provide consulting training . Put more emphasis on soft skills and negotiation. Can improve the counselling program to be more meaningfull.
Pros
The people there are a little more easy going compared to what I have heard at similar type consulting firms. They are also a really intelligent bunch of people to mentor you and give you stretch opportuniites at an early stage in your career. Balance of having space to show your own initiative and being given guidence when asked for
