Pros
Being a part of a growing company allows you to have an impact on its destiny. You work closely with senior leadership. It is encouraged to be entrepreneurial and think outside the box for ways to grow and market company. People oriented with a Positive life/work balance. Cap sets you up with the opportunitiy to grow with and within the company. The work gives you exposure to different people, industries, functions and work.
Cons
1. Since it still is growing, it does not have all the resources at your finger tips including people and processes.
Advice to Senior Management
Not at this time.
Pros
My coworkers are great and very talented and hard working. We really do hire a lot of talented people.
Software Development team has flexibility in using what ever tools we need to get the job done , ie. iPads, iPhones, etc in spite of official policies otherwise.
Lots of social activities and community activities.
Cons
Reactionary leadership constantly causes issues. Always seems that the new emergency overrides best practices and the new emergency is often caused by the response to te previous emergency.
Thought leadership is encouraged in word but rarely in deed. Management to just expects you to meet your deliverables and not cause them.
Some are promoted to management just because they hav been around long enough it seems and thy don't have much in the way of leadership skills.
Training is encouraged company wide but rarely supported by management and there is a great deal of confusion about how to actually get approval for training.
Advice to Senior Management
Trust your consultants. Don't ask to be copied on every email. Lead instead of micromanage. Clarify training routes and get local management on board with training.

It provides some great opportunities to get industry exposure in multiple industries.
Cons
Crazy hours, not consistent management.

With the turnover in the industry right now, lots of people are switching around looking for better opportunities. Capgemini has experienced this as well, leaving several spots for people to come in, lead, and show what they can do.
Cons
Capgemini is still fragmented in its service lines, so many times it feels like a jumble of companies loosely affiliated instead of a single organization.
Advice to Senior Management
Invest more time and people on strategic initiatives instead of focusing everyone on billable hours.
Pros
-Managers respect work life balance and getting time off is never an issue if planned well
-Encourages internal employee driven initiatives
-It's "Collaborative Business Experience" is mostly true both within engagement teams and with clients
Cons
Performance management is inconsistent and poor. You tend to get promoted or receive better ratings if on a large project.
Company has good expertise in project management, but non-IT business knowlege is very limited. Consequently, company is slow to pick up on new business trends/requirements such as Social Media or Social CRM. More and more, company seems to be getting only traditional vanilla IT projects with little innovation opportunity or challenge.
Employee pool is average, very few folks from ivy league or top 20 universities.
Utilization is the highest priority and consultants can be thrown to any project with no regard to career planning

To get on the cutting edge and be a leader, invest whole-heartedly in pursuing thought leadership

Doing well...maybe have better communication to all levels of consultants- don't expect just the managers to pass on information to their team

Good technology people will thrive. Clients are across the globe and this will give you a great exposure. A few practices within NA are good.

This company is bad if you are thinking of consulting firms like mckinsey, bcg, bain. It is basically an Indian IT company in US
Advice to Senior Management
Please focus on hiring the right people and encouraging them to stay in the firm rather than just doing a strategic hire. Focus on quality
Pros
Compensation - Very strong they ensure that employees are well paid to avoid attrition
Work/Life Balance - Vacation process very informal and flexible
Travel Policy - very fair travel policy and tool set to allow consultants ease and flexibility
Cons
Senior Leadership - Fractured leadership by BU often causing Fiefdom mentality
Lack of Junior Resources - Very few junior associates causing projects to be staffed lopsided
Networking - very few opportunities for associates to meet and network with one another
Nepotism - New hires are often brought aboard based on relationships and not skill sets
Advice to Senior Management
Reorganize business units to align metrics for senior leadership allowing for better cross BU collaboration and resource allocation. Company needs internal upgrade for many systems including T & E, finance, HR, Intranet, Performance Management , etc.
Pros
Good flexibility as long as you manage expectations of bosses/clients. This has to be established by you though and is not always assumed.
Cons
We put people in very difficult situations and often times don't put the right people on the ground to effectively manage expectations. Lots of times you have to fly solo and set your own expectations.

Pay your employees better and put them in position to succeed rather than putting them in a situation where they have to ensure their own success without support.
