    Pros

Benefits are phenomenal (medical, dental, etc) Life paid for Monday-Thursday Work within the practice is challenging, engaging and clients appreciate input

    Cons

HR in this business unit is atrocious. Little communication in general, lack of knowledge regarding training schedule. Culture (as at most large consulting firms) is lacking, not much room for networking within the organization unless you really put yourself out there.

    Advice to Management

    Improve HR, enhance culture.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time

    Pros

    - Nice office in Otemachi - They might hire quickly if they need someone on a project immediately - Good bridge opportunity

    Cons

    - Reputation in Japan tarnished by their market exit in 2007 - Inexperienced in the Japan market, they bring impossible approaches that will fail with their Japanese clients. - Ridiculous high turnover in the Japan office from the heads of consulting, finance, sales and insurance practice on down. - Turnover based upon unrealistic management expectation for high gross margin; they are an Indian outsourcer like TCS, but try to charge double the rate - 60-70 hours work weeks are expected but your dedication won't save you when the project fails

    Advice to Management

Attempting to outrun your reputation from both customers and potential hires is your best approach.

    Pros

Lots of travelling and meeting with interesting people of all walks; exposure to some of the largest companies, complex multi-tier, high-volume computer software and systems; decent pay when combined with per diem; lots of opportunities to network with clients and other vendors.

    Cons

Overly large company; working conditions and 'colleagues' vary greatly depending on the project you are on. At a project in Asia with French project managers, they had dinners and outings that were "French only"; non-French were left out. At another with Swedish, everyone was invited. Almost no management: I had a performance review done by someone 2000 miles away and we had never met or talked before or known each other!

    Advice to Management

There needs to be some kind of consistency across the company; more opportunities to move up or laterally; better pay.

    Pros

some managers are smart. Good training and career development plans

    Cons

works like cheap IT services companies. No pure consulting player like deloitte or PWC . With Igate, i suppose capgemini will be just another IT company.
