Not a terrible place to work

I have been working at Capgemini

    Pros

Some people work ridiculous hours, some don't. I'm in the category of people that don't. I work my set schedule, then go home. I have some managerial duties after hours that won't apply to 90% of the folks hired.

    Cons

You can only move up once per year, if you start in January, you will wait a minimum of 2 years to get a promotion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Loosen up the "everyone gets promoted at one time" model.

I worked at Capgemini full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Benefits, Compensation & policies are really good when compared to competition. Some of the benefits like vacation & sick leaves are really good.

    Cons

Management needs to be little employee centric. They always try to please the customer( which is good by the way ) but in doing this, employee's interests shouldn't be sidelined.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the good job but sometime do take care of employee's need & problems too

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Open welcoming and smart colleagues. Great culture. Good bosses. Ample opportunities to grow if you do good work. Very flexible - can work out any arrangement (for school, for change of field, for promotion, raise, etc)

    Cons

Can be a bit of "we are not as good as Accenture" feeling

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Raise appreciation for Capgemini for what it is, not in comparison with other consultancies.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

People in management may not be perfect (like anywhere else), but what I have found is that the leadership is more than willing to listen and learn from its employees.

    Fun environment, great, genuine people.

Proactive and driven employees, you have control over your own career, lots of opportunities for travel.

    Cons

    Salary could be better.

Travel could get taxing, but that is the consulting world. Some contracts require less travel, and management are open to your feedback/wishes on what your ideal situation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be afraid to communicate and give feedback before it is necessary/requested.
