I worked at Capgemini full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Friendly culture and atmosphere
People willing to help colleagues out with questions
    Varied work possible
Create your own career and be responsible for your own career

    Cons

Some area's of business are underdeveloped and can lead to long bench time
Secondary income is getting less and less due to budget cuts

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase cooperation between business units and create incentives (KPI's) for management to realize this. At the moment business units either compete or dont know of each others existence, it is hurting company performance in the long run.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Everything is possible, pro-activeness is highly appriciated, work from Home is not a problem at all, shared responsibility's towards customers improves delivery

    Cons

"people matter" is not always executed seriously, salary increase can be improved, time-writing tool is very poor, there are quit of lot of "rules"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really follow "people matter", check the rewarding, put more effort in the work-life balance of people, time-writing is crucial for our business so put more effort in this tool to improve.

Really good employer with lots of opportunities, however there's a glass ceiling for senior engineers.

I worked at Capgemini full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    Good work life balance
    Good secondary benefits
    Lots of training opportunities
    Complete freedom to develop yourself

    Cons

As a senior engineer you reach a glass ceiling you cannot get through.
How hard you perform or excell, getting a raise is very hard once you reach a certain level
Hardly any room for innovation or entrepreneurship
For every decision you need approval from the HQ in Paris

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seize and embrace your senior engineers, you need them!

I worked at Capgemini full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

If you fit the profile, Capgemini is a great place to work, where you get lots of opportunities to grow your skills and competencies. Capgemini has it's own training facilities globally, some good (leadership) coaching and as long as they like you, it is yours to benefit from.

    Cons

Profit/loss entities are too small and are too much driven by .. profit. There are no apparent motivators for ensuring competency development and healthy career paths within the organization. And this is not just since the recession.

Combined with the almost mandatory change in management every year means after some years, everyone will at some stage end up as a resource in a monthly excel sheet, more than someone who is close to their managers and gets the growth/development opportunities that make Capgemini a great company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make people development a KPI for every PL entity and centralize HR/People management.

I have been working at Capgemini full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The Dutch branch office is a great place to work if you want to be under paid, like overtime, don't mind bad coffee and like to walk around with your office stuff as their are no cabinets to store your stuff.

    Cons

The Dutch branch office is totally off track since merger with a local competitor some years ago. What was once the pride of Dutch IT, feels nowadays as cheerful as a graveyard in the rain.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep your promises and don't keep running around the busch

I have been working at Capgemini full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

International present, > 100k employees, own education/academy institute, eLearning available

    Cons

You are alone, an individual. Too much based on old boys network.
If you are idle this is the wrong place to be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Balance between internal and external assignments is totally wrong.
    Treat people as adults.

I have been working at Capgemini

    Pros

Great personal development opportunities for starting professionals
    Good secondary benefits
High value placed on personal responsibility, so much flexibility in working from home

    Cons

Average to low pay compared to competition while you are expected to work very hard.
Mildly arrogant attitude (though the least arrogant compared to the competition i.m.o)
