I have been working at Capita full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits, variety, opportunities to work on other contracts, management are approachable and willing to reward the team when required.

    Cons

The salary scales for lower level jobs means we lose some good people to competitors. They could also do more on employee engagement

    Advice to Management

Communicate better with people at ground level

I have been working at Capita as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Real considerate Team Managers who help me tackle the complex contract I am working on with Scottish Widows.

    Cons

Currently working in a project team which is constantly changing it's procedures. It is hard to train and even be trained properly when no one knows what's what any more!

    Advice to Management

Better communication to make sure everyone is up to the level required to carry out their duties, especially when procedures have been changed.

I have been working at Capita full-time

    Pros

The initial process of getting the job was very simple, filled out an online application, contacted for a telephone interview where once done I was placed on hold for 2 minutes and then asked for a face to face interview. Interview was a group setting but involved one person telling us about the job and asking to fill out some personal details (name, address, health questionnaire etc), individually taken out for a role play (reading from a screen, easy enough) then a one-to-one interview where basic questions asked (describe a time you gave good cust. service, when you received some feedback that made you change your working methods etc) and was called within 2 hours with a job offer. The job itself is simple, working to targets - average handling time for customers and regularly marked by quality but after working here I have realised that I am more suited to a fast-paced environment where no two hours are the same (never mind two days!)

    Cons

Lack of communication across departments, minor issues with IT etc (marking me down as an employee who has left because I had a similar name etc)

Everything is in place that you would want, benefits, car schemes, bupa, etc. All the processes are efficient. Easy company to sell. Lots of experienced good people to work with.

    Cons

You can become a number with no value on the individual. Managers swap and change all the time.
