I worked at CapitaLand full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Generally, the people are nice. The flexi benefits and bonus scheme is attractive.

    Cons

Too political. You need to build relationship with the right people in the Organisation in order to advance. The people development opportunities are limited and learning culture not strong.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It will be good to have more transparency and look into enhancing the people development structure within CL group.

I worked at CapitaLand as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

The camaraderie in the company is pretty strong, People eat breakfast together, the boss buys food for the team if we had to stay back to meet a deadline. It is easy to approach other people in the division if you needed to find something out. Everyone was willing to help.

    Cons

Things moved slowly. Due to the large nature of the company, decisions tended to be made after consulting a whole host of people first.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    More diversification of authority.

I have been working at CapitaLand full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Intelligent and motivated people all around, making it easy to learn and execute your job - if you know how and where to look.

    Cons

You need to know the right people to get a semblance of a career path since it is a very large corporation. This is the same as every else that is large I guess.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A more transparent and accessible talent management program would be useful for those interested in planning for a career in the company.

I worked at CapitaLand full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

good company for Singaporeans and Chinese.

    Cons

Cannot operate in countries other than Singapore and China. Rewards and benefits are not uniform across the globe, biased in favour of SG and China. Diff subsidiaries have diff working values and working styles.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust the local staff of other countries instead of blindly relying on Singaporeans heading the overseas companies. Have uniform benefits to all staff across the globe based on their grades. Have uniform working styles amongst all business units.
