I worked at Capital Financial Group as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

It was an awesome experience. I was given the chance to see the day to day life of a financial adviser. During my internship i wasn't treated like just another inter being made to only make cold calls or fill out paper work, but rather I was treated just like a FA. Having the opportunity to sit in meetings and tag along with a FA to meet clients.
CFG also worked very closely with me on my class schedule.
You will see "the good, the bad, and the ugly" of the industry.
Loved the people i worked with.

    Cons

Their wasn't really any sons for the internship. The only con i can speak of is at the end of the day your still nothing more than an insurance sells man in that industry.

Great for newbies, but not for experienced advisors

I worked at Capital Financial Group full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Office space makes great first impression
Benefits package includes company funded pension plan, 401k plan

    Cons

If you come to CFG with a successful career in financial services, the culture of the firm will still require you to work with a sales manager who is programmed to help you manage your practice the same way they manage a brand new adviser with no experience.

  3.

    Better fit the mold

    Pros

A great team to work with, back office support is top notch with underwriting and compliance. Probably one of the best in the business.

    Cons

Little things fall through the cracks often from sales management, If you don't fit the mold they want they will bring you on in hopes that you change. Hard place to work with if you are established advisor

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

recruit to your strenghts, don't try to change an advisors established business. Could be better
