Provide more direction on where the company is going - don't rely on people to guess.

company was very well located, close to market street.
pay was good for a relatively easy job
sometimes colleagues were nice and stimulating

culture of confusion, nobody knows what is going on.

need to get professional management talent that has empathy and can kead and innovate and think outside the box and not just execute poorly.

Pros

The benefits are great. Retirement package is excellent, and is a great place to be if you want to retire there.

Cons

The company does not use associates effectively. I've Associates end up doing work which does not make them learn or grow in their field of expertise.

Advice to Senior Management

Get involved! Stop managing up (to higher level management), and start managing down to the people who need your direction. Spend some time with the people who are actually doing the work, and you will know how to fix what is broken.

Pros

People are generally nice here. You will probably never get yelled at, and people are usually quite accessible, especially if you are junior.

Cons

There's a feeling of political correctness at the company that can occasionally be quite stifling. The Investment Group is also quite different from the rest of the company, and it's clear that priorities remain with the Investment Group. It's also extremely conservative as a company.

Hire younger people, encourage entrepreneurship.

Dont make people feel less than, like we should be so lucky to be working there and you could never find anything better

Pros

CG is a good place to be if you want to retire. Their retirement plan is what makes most people stay there for long.

If you want to learn and grow, then you may want to consider one of the other companies.

More focus on completing tasks rather than spend months discussing WHAT should be done.

Pros

The bonus and retirement. Also the work load is not too bad depending on what team you are on.

Cons

Work environment, not the friendliest place to work, people usually keep to themselves not to much social interaction. It's pretty much get your work done and go home. No much room for growth, promotions are hard to come by.

Treat people who actually do the work better and reward them.
